There NEEDS to be better rewards for the weekly ultimate

Ok so the game has been out for two months now and so far we’ve had a bunch of visors and emblems as the ultimate rewards… and I think one weapon coating….

This HAS To change. Idk about you guys but the last thing I’m going to be is motivated to spend all week grinding these challenges for some visor that’s indistinguishable from others we already have or more lame emblems.

The weekly ultimate reward should be offering Helmets and helmet attachments(reach helmets related to the season) armor sets, armor coatings, kill effects, armor effects etc. THESE would be worth the grind doing all these ridiculous challenges.

Does anyone agree? I feel like this topic hasn’t really been discussed much. But the weekly rewards have been largely pathetic so far.

Why would they give better rewards knowing they have the shop up and running. I mean you were just on another post wanting a variety of new items to buy. So why would 343 give you better rewards?

Yeah, I want more cool stuff to buy and I want more cool stuff to unlock for free. These aren’t mutually exclusive you dork. With how much content 343 bragged about offering in the years leading up to release I’m highly underwhelmed about the stuff we are getting on both paid and free tracks

I don’t think you are comprehending what is actually being said here so let me dumb it down for you.

The more player like yourself push for more items to be sold in the shop, the less likely 343/Microsoft is going to offer better rewards as you are requesting through challenges. It’s simple logic really.

I’m honestly fine with them how they are. Sometimes I don’t feel like chasing challenges all week. Especially when they put me into playlists I don’t want to play.

Yeah you don’t feel like doing challenges all week because the rewards are garbage. Lol I feel the same way most weeks. “Oh another emblem, yeah I’ll pass”

You’re wrong. Just because they can sell things that are cool in the store doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t put cool cosmetics in the game for free. Advocating for more content via both means for a MP that costs you NOTHING to play only ends up with the game having more content all together in the end.

Better rewards won’t change the fact that I don’t want to play team tactical or FFA.

Hmm interesting. I’d be more than happy to play some of my more disliked playlists or gametypes like CTF or ranked if it meant I could unlock something cool like a helmet or armor coating. In reality outside of events you’re only going to get Max 3-4 challenges in any one game type or mode so it wouldn’t even be that bad

I really only go for the ultimate rewards if I happen to be close to finishing the challenges, and I don’t pay much attention to the challenges since I finished the battle pass (unless there’s an event).

I could be more motivated if there were better rewards though - maybe.

I’m fine with visors and coatings as capstone rewards, but emblems are underwhelming. I agree, there should be a few helmets and other armour pieces sprinkled in.

Given the limited nature of challenge swaps if the reward isn’t something that I know I’ll use I’ll elect to ignore all the challenges. In short it’s attempt to bait if high hours player falls flat, because it tells me to play modes I hate for a reward I do not want.

Ideally future challenges will be designed in such a way it doesn’t force you into specific mode, or if they do they should be short, and rare. Having a better reward would also help achieve it’s goal of keeping people playing the game.

I think this would be a good system

Keep challenges and forget performance based XP, since this system would basically be performance based XP

Each challenge has a scaling system, you have basic challenges (kills, assists, play objective, complete matches, win matches)
Get kills
1,2,3,4,5,6,7…
You get the idea, you get a certain amount of XP for every kill, it is like this for everything (complete matches, get assists, ect ect)

The xp gain increases with every level but is different for each challenge. The daily challenge is scrapped except for events, which lets you just log on and play 1 match, get 1 rank.
1 kill would be X XP. 2 Kills would X, 3 would give you X and so on.

The event levels have a required XP amount (500 XP) like the seasonal BP. (except for the daily rank up)
Ultimate’s are scrapped as well and instead are turned into a ranking system. There are 6 ranks (Common, Rare, Super Rare, Ultra, Legendary, Premium) In the end, you can choose from your unlocked items the one you wish to have (unless you completed all the challenges earlier in the week.

Common-Super Rare would switch out every week. Ultra would switch out every other week. Legendary would switch out every 2 weeks. Premium would switch out every month. The challenge scaling would be set up in a way so that Legendary is tough to get but Premium is near impossible and would require a lot of grinding. You would no longer be able to grind your way to the Ultimate in 1 day.
So if you got the Premium in week 1 of the month, you can get Legendary in week 2, Ultra week 3 and Super Rare in week 4 and then the Premium returns.

2800 XP—Rare–Rare Backdrop
4100 XP—Super Rare–Rare Visor
5400 XP—Ultra–Epic Pose
6700 XP—Legendary–Legendary Chest piece
8000 XP—Premium–Legendary Helmet

2800 XP—Rare–Rare Coating
4100 XP—Super Rare–Rare emblem
5400 XP—Ultra–Epic Pose
6700 XP—Legendary–Legendary Chest piece
8000 XP—Premium–Legendary Helmet

Those are my thoughts on the matter

Medals would give you XP gain towards the BP but not the weekly ultimate.
Each medal would ranked ranked on the rarity level
Normal=5 XP
Heroic=10 XP
Legendary=15 XP
Mythic=20 XP
If you get 50 XP for 400 battles (which is how many battles I’ve played within 3 months of playing, which is standard for a normal BP)
You would get 20k XP with is 20 levels. And if you completed the weekly ultimate, that would give you 96k. So you can get a total of 116k levels. Are you likely to get that? Nope, so this would let people be putting progress into the BP for more of the season for those who need something like that.
Also. I don’t think I clarified this, you can gain credits/XP in custom games but the income is halved (if a number comes out to a decimal it is rounded up). So if you got 2000 score in a online mode, you would need to get 4000 to match that for the credit income. If you get 50 XP from medals you would need double the medals to get the same amount. Any overrides (except for adding bots) disables your ability to gain XP/Credits.
This allows people who like offline mode to still be gaining progress but stops cheesing the system from happening.
