There must be some studio sabotaging going on

If halo died it died with reach

For benefit of the doubt, maybe a one-shot game mode will collect more specific information they can use to diagnose and debug the desync issues? 99% of these problems are because they severely contracted majority of this games development out. So many inconsistencies and half-baked features and integrations.

We know you exist, we just don’t respect you.

And in regards to your name calling… people in glass houses mustn’t throw stones :smirk:

It died with 4. Reach was still very popular even with the fans that disliked the changes. Halo 4 was just outright a bad game.

Nah you don’t understand. 343 isn’t like Bungie. Bungie wanted to make Halo. 343 is hired by Microsoft and paid to do what they are told. Based on Halo 4, Halo 5, and Halo Infinite, 343 has no intentions of carrying the passion, spirit, and love of Halo that Bungie had.

Which is very unfortunate.
The gameplay and art style are great, and it could have had one of the best FPS customization systems around.
If they’d fix everything (the network problems, the shop problems, the content problems, etc.), they could completely turn things around for the game and have it remembered well, but similarly to what you said, it’s likely they’ll never do that.
The series is probably going to end or at least lose whatever popularity it still had sadly.

I wouldn’t be surprised.

“We had people who we hired who hated Halo because of ‘X,’” says O’Connor. “But what that really meant was, ‘I feel like this game could be awesome because of ‘Y input’ that I’m going to bring into it. I want to prove it, and I’m passionate about proving it.’ So we ended up with a bunch of people who were genuinely passionate about the product. That is a huge advantage, and that helped in hiring and forming our team.”

I wanna find out who the clowns were that said they hated Halo because of the emblems, color options, and energy pistol EMP, because they’d be the most hated people on the planet for making nameplates, coatings, and shock weapons

The article was about Halo 4, so I’m wondering if the people they hired who hated Halo for various reasons are still there or not, and if they’re still hiring people who say things like that.
With how Infinite is going, it certainly seems like one or both of those is true.

Those aren’t your typical “fans”. Those are fanboys. People that like it just because of its title despite how bad it is. It is similar to how actual Cod fans hate Infinite warfare.

I think the desync is a priority fix, it’s just that they don’t really know what is causing the issues, that’s why the last patch they put in telemetry to try and figure it out.

I think it’s been said somewhere that the root cause is because of movement being so much faster.

Also that same issue could be effecting theater. At the moment Theater can’t recreate an actual representation because everyone is so fast and the server can’t process what actually is happening correctly.

So i think the answer some where lands between shotty networking and moving fast. I also think there are some other underlying issues besides movement because desync can happen at relatively low speeds.

And this is why people like YOU are what’s wrong with the community. If you think a Halo game is lesser just because of it’s mechanics then YOU aren’t a Halo fan. Halo Infinite is a BAD game because it is broken beyond repair, Halo 5 was fixed up within 2 months of it’s launch, Halo 4 had virtually no issues on the technical side when it launched.

I think they themselves did this, and are trying to bring on longevity of investments from Microsoft because there are so many issues. They have had more than enough time to make this a great game. Hell, I don’t even do coding and I’m sure if I was given 500 million dollars, and 6 years, I could do a better job myself.

343i, bring back open lobbies and open communication.

Oh so Halo Infinite fans? All joking aside I like EVERY title in the FPS portion of the franchise EXCEPT for Infinite due to Infinite being broken beyond repair and being a game built off of lies.

Yeah… but people still didn’t like them for the most part.

You seem really mad, maybe you should chill out.

I’m not going to reply a lot about this because I’ve already talked about it at length with someone here before, but mechanics are a huge part of video game series.
Sure, the setting’s important, and fans will likely want to know what happens in all of the games (assuming the stories are good), but unless you’re talking about visual novels or something similar, gameplay is a defining aspect.
Not only that, but the art style in Halo 5 was awful and very unlike Halo, especially for the armors, so it’s not as if the mechanics were the only thing people didn’t like about it.

For Halo 4, the story wasn’t great, the campaign maps weren’t great, the multiplayer maps weren’t great, the enemies weren’t good, the mechanics were okay, and the armor designs were starting to look bad too.

A lack of technical issues doesn’t mean fans have to like games in a series.
Persona 4 Arena likely works well enough, but it doesn’t mean I like it.
I don’t like fighting games, and being a Persona fan isn’t going to change that.
Same for my dislike of the dungeons in Persona 3-5 compared to ones in Persona 1-2.

Technically yes. People that blindly praise it. It doesn’t matter how decent the gameplay is when it doesn’t work. I can’t even search for back to back matches without dashboard quitting or it doesn’t let you search. Even campaign gets locked out.

I mean when you basically insult someone on the internet, as your previous post did, you shouldn’t be surprised when people call you out for it.

Secondly over the years, especially now with Infinite’s release, I’ve learned that the communities opinion on what makes a Halo game “Great” doesn’t mean jack crap. Infinite was blindly praised despite it easily being the worst entry in the series to date, people constantly flip-flopped about liking and then hating Halo 5.

This community is the human personification of a Nuclear Reactor, Highly Unstable and has a meltdown whenever someone disagrees with the “popular opinion”.

The people who didn’t like certain games probably still dislike them even if less harshly, but they’re less vocal about it, giving room for those who liked them to say good things about them.
I still don’t like Halo 4.

Also, the praise for Infinite was likely regarding its gameplay and art style.

Oh wow really? I didn’t notice that.

I guess that explains why the Mcc was purposely ruined.
