Theres is zero chance 343 is this tone deaf. With weeks and months of little content along witg almost zero transparency, its just amazes me… Infinite has the potential to be insane. How is desync not a priority fix especially when a one shot gamemode that is currently the event playlist bugged to hell with it. Being shot through walls, getting kills while not even aiming at thier heads, being shot before you or the enemy as came around a corner??? I just dont get it… 343 wtf is going on??
The zero transparency thing is the most annoying aspect. I have a feeling that there’s gonna be a lot of fixes and some decent, new stuff added when Season 2 rolls around. But that’s just me being hopeful.
I think the desync is a priority fix, it’s just that they don’t really know what is causing the issues, that’s why the last patch they put in telemetry to try and figure it out.
Halo died in 2015 but the producers withheld the information. Halo’s corpse has been propped up with marionette strings for one last show.
Just watch the 343 vs The World video, its not sabotaging, its just pure unbridled incompetence.
i got killed like this so many times in the magler mode it wasnt even funny
nah they are using popcicle sticks, its like weekend at Bernie’s
Ironically enough, 343 didn’t want to work on Halo. Microsoft just bought Halo from Bungie and hires people on annual contracts, then fires them, so 343 is mostly a ragtag team of confused outsourced devs being forced to work on games for their higher up marketing corps. If there seriously is internal sabotage, it’s because they want Halo to finally die and quit being milked to death, because Halo is a decaying shell of its past self.
Maybe there really is some plan to kill the game from the inside, just so the devs can work on their own new ideas, instead of trying to bs their way through another campaign fan fiction and get burned out on 10 years of this.
It would be easier to kill Halo and make something new, like how Bungie moved onto make Destiny. 343 clearly just wants to make CoD style arena games, because they went back to the Halo 4 garbage people hated, but the maps are worse than ever.
Halo had a good 20 years, but Infinite is just… the lowest point possible, and will ruin the reputation of Halo even if they do fix it eventually, because they will never fix the store, emblems, coatings, physics, campaign, and other changes that defined Halo in the first place
We might get a good Forge, but that’s it. Halo Infinite will just be known as Halo Infinite Forge. Even the HCS pros all agree the game is boring and they don’t want to play it anymore, so HCS might also be dead soon. Even long time loyal YouTubers and streamers are just sick of the game and not even new content makes them excited anymore. This might actually be the last Halo game
(Deleted last post as it was not tied to quote, but this is exactly the same as the above one was)
This unfortunately is true and false. Halo is indeed a ghost of what it was. And it’s likely many just want this new trilogy to be buried.
However I don’t think killing Halo is, and was, the only way. There was still ways Halo could have continued, be it through spinoffs (something like ODST), more delving into Halo Wars, or a new approach to the storyline entirely.
i’m not going to rant about the possibilities - because any suggestions would also fall into fanfiction - but there are many unique narratives and paths that could have been taken to keep Halo going. There’s many directions this game could have gone that may have resulting in the games being more consistent, engaging, and brought it more attention.
… but that’s in the past. With where Halo is now… I agree it’s very unlikely Halo will have a game beyond this. It’s going to die with a whimper. IF - and only if - Microsoft decides to keep Halo as it’s flagship title, they’re going to face A LOT of problems. But there have been comeback stories before.
I think it’s some conflict in the studio. One part of the studio fights because they wanted to put all the content IN-GAME when it launched and the other part fighted because they saw the potential to cut most of it to make monetazation of it. Like, armor and campaign dlc.
For real, all of 343I can’t think that putting Hazop and Gungnir armor outside of season 1 battlepass and in the shop was a good idea. There must have been some conflict of what they were going to do with Infinite.
And as we see, the monetazation side won.
And the result was a disaster.
This is the result of greed.
If they just put out all the good content as it should be, the content problem would not have been there.
Yes, the shop would lack content but everyone hates it anyway?
It’s the monetazation that ruins Infinite.
If they only gave us more than the bare minimum of content when the game released the state of Infinite wouldn’t be like this.
Instead they followed the greed way.
I really hope they learn from this mistake when season 2 drops. Personally I’m okay with the shop prices now, but keeping armor that should have been in the battlepass is a big turnoff.
And IF they went for the monetazation way (as they did), they should have forge and firefight AT LAUNCH. To give players something to while they wait for new story and mp content.
I don’t know what brain made their choces, but that brain needs an update to make a good live service.
Like, it’s so stupid to cut content for money, when the result is becoming a game of LACKING CONTENT.
Omg.
To be fair, this isn’t as straight forward as people like to make it out. “Desync” can be network related or caused by poor rendering code. There’s definitely room for improvement in both net and render code and I don’t envy the people responsible for working on those pieces since they integrate/interact with the UI. The same UI which has imposed technical limitations… Not saying they shouldn’t fix desync, rather the route to fixing desync isn’t as clear cut as people seem to think it is. Which is why it would be lovely if 343 was transparent with specifics as to how they are attempting to solve the problem.
We have other games like MCC for that.
I quit. The game sucks and needs to die. Just go to a full game and play that instead of complaining on here
Halo didn’t die, purists need to find something new to whine about. It’s dying, but it’s far from dead.
they literally just
told us how parts of the engine work
There’s no such thing as purists. Just Halo fans and non fans. And when you say pure that just verifies that it’s better. Because impure things are bad.
No there are purists. There are Halo fans that like every Halo game, and then there are the fans that only play/worship the original trilogy or in pretty much ANY instance solely Halo 3. THOSE are purists. To say someone is not a Halo fan because they like Halo 4 or 5 more than the Bungie era, and yes those people do exist, I am one of them, is not only elitist, it shows why the purists are the dumbest people in the Halo community.
6 development years; 2 spent on a new engine with elements of Blam!, and the other 4 were spent on game development. Those four years were actively hindered by poor management from the upper echelon, a hinderance exacerbated by an unhealthy reliance on non-permanent staff.
That’s not sabotage, that’s bad bone structure. It’s a bad situation made apparent by an inability to solve even the most seemingly minor of issues in any time shorter than a month or longer.
343i is literally named after 343 guilty spark…the studio was created solely to make Halo games.
Halo 4 and 5 were literally dumpster fires…
