First post on way point so please hold off on the hate.
After reading many posts on this forum about how halo 4 will fail in its endeavors to be competitive, i decided to post this in the hope that the core halo players will give halo 4 a shot.
here are a few reasons i could think of that might be conducive to a competitive environment in halo 4.
Faster movespeed/jumpheigt (i have been lead to believe somewhere between h2/h3). as i havent played the game myself yet, i am unaware of the level of aim assist, but if it is anything like h3 aim assist then strafing will now be viable again and will allow the more skillful or players with the better strafe to come out ontop in 1v1 duels
From what i have seen the sniper has somthing resembling ‘kickback’ after you take a shot, now i know many of you will say reach had bloom and it sucked, but maybe this kickback will be predictable enough and not add the element of randomness that reach did with bloom, which will allow the sniper to become a wepon that the great players can use very effectively whilst the newer/less experienced players will avoid because of its high difficulty (please note i have no used it, i am just going off video’s i have seen on youtube)
the light rifle - the light rifle from my understanding is a 4 shot scoped and 5 shot out of scope. this might bring around some very interesting game play and could create a huge skillgap between competitive/casual gamers. if it is possible to ‘quick scope’ in between shots, whilst it will be more difficult then just straight shooting close range out of scope, it will allow players who are good with the light rifle to essentialy out br or out light rifle newer players using dmr/br, leaving the more skillful player ontop in all 1v1 situations if used right. 9light rifle scoped 1.3 second kill, br/dmr 1.6 second kill)
Now i am not a fan at all of Armour abilities, and personally hated them in reach. the thruster pack might create a skill gap if it is possible to incorporate it into ur stafe. Allowing players to have an even less predictable/faster strafe. (i know this is a longshot, and im not sure if u can shoot whilst thruster packing, but it is an interesting thought.)
The use of hitscan!!!, now i know that leading ur shots in halo 3 made a big difference between people who where good with the BR and people who sucked, and playing on lan, bullet travel time was amazing. Online multilayer was a much different situation However as an Australian player, online gameplay was just terrible on anything except Australian host. Essentially to out br an American of European h3 player i had to be able to 1v1 people 2 shots down, which became very difficult searching @ 50 high. The use of hitscan in halo 4 will bring around much fairer game play online.
these are just some of the ideas i thought of, im sure there are many more that could allow halo 4 to be a fantastic COMPETITIVE game that all the core halo players would love to see.
thanks for ur time, feel free to leave any thoughts/comments u have.
*please note - there will be 100000000’s of grammatical mistakes in this post i haven’t had a lot of sleep was up all night doing an assignment for my business degree.
I truly believe there is nothing wrong with Halo 4’s multiplayer, so people really need to stop trying to fix it because it isn’t broken. It’s like people want it to fail for some reason, like the imagination of it succeeding is too hard to comprehend or something.

People pointing out flaws before the game is released don’t want the game to fail. That’s why they’re pointing out flaws now, before release, so they can be addressed.

It’s so cute how you think you know better than the actual developers.

The devs at 343 are complete garbage at their game. They don’t know the difference between a 5sk and a 4sk because it’s always a 10-15sk for them.

The game has flaws and they can and should be fixed before the game drops …

What you believe and what others believe are not the same thing …
And that’s what forums are for …
So people can talk about what they like and don’t like

I know that, i’m not limited. And the only reason why I said what I did was because sometimes people complain for the sake of it and I always see more complainers that say the most ridiculous things than I do people who actually full support the game

The BR looks way more accurate and faster than it ever was. Making it a 4 SK would have a high chance of making it over powered. But I haven’t really played it enough for myself to really get a good picture of that.
Utility weapon starts, faster kill times, hitscan, quicker base movement speed, increased jump height, less auto aim, faster strafe acceleration, sprint now a universal ability, sprint top speed and acceleration nerfed, sprint stopping power, maps designed to accommodate sprint, jet pack nerfed, maps designed to balance jetpack, Sniper kick effectively creating a slower fire rate punishing payers who miss shots, no bloom utility rifles, DMR bloom reduced to a single stage, non cumulative, minimal bloom… I see quite a few positives.
relative map control is essential to competition as well… But I’d like to point out when I played at RTX it was fluid. During the initial ordnance drop, players would flock to the bigger weapons. This led to competition for them. And after awhile when new weapons spawned, some players were oblivious while others would track down the new sets. I found this to be an interesting way to keep up map control. It changes the mood and overall need for different tactics. Especially compared to people stalking over the sniper/rocket spawns back in Halo CE-Reach…
