Halo 4 Ladders

And there is something called Halo 2 and 3 that people enjoyed very much.

Oh so their ranking system have flaws?!?!

Well that’s great, because that’s what sequels are for. They fix the flaws!

After a long day of college and work, I don’t want to have to register me and my team on some website and set up the exact time and date a match will take place and yadayadayada.

I want to invite my friends into a party, click on team slayer, get matched against another full team of similar skill that want to win just as much as I do, and let the match begin.

That didn’t happen in Reach. And it won’t happen in this game.

This.

You obviously don’t understand why people are mad. They want visible skill ranks for bragging rights to everyone they meet online, not just the Game Battles community…

I can’t speak for everyone, but I hate it when competitive players are accused of only wanting visible skills for epeen purposes. I’m a huge competitive player and I don’t want it for that reason. I want it for personal improvement, watching myself get better and actually being rewarded for not lacking. And having a real risk of losing a rank for losing a match. Instead of this “Everybody wins!” progression mentality. Skill > Time played.

I agree with you. Im just giving other players alternatives. I understand Gamebattles can be a hassle but it is the most competitive people on the market.

FALSE!! We want the tense atmosphere that was only found in ranked playlists in Halo 2 and 3.

Only a small fraction of rank lovers use it to put down others.

Explained it so well.

Effectively what I was trying to get at.

^^^win win win

you obviously never had what it took get a 50, the drive to improve, to better yourself, to implement teamwork whereever your could to take the win. Its not about bragging rights, although they are rightfully included.

HAHAHAHAHAH OF COUUUUURSE this thread wouldnt be removed, the ones that tend to be critical of the current ranking system however are.

Are you serious with your gamebattles idea?

Do you KNOW what it means to have a proper ranking system implemented?

Ambition, drive, reward, success, failure, persistence, bragging rights, skill, goals, fun, competitive.

These are ALL valid reasons for a SKILL-BASED ranking system that determines results based off of wins and losses. On its MERIT almost nothing speaks against it.
We all know this isnt why it wont be in Halo 4 tho (i.e. substantive reasons).

And you wanna talk about gamebattles?

Oh Gamebattles! I used that site…

When I was 12.

> You obviously don’t understand why people are mad. They want visible skill ranks for bragging rights to everyone they meet online, not just the Game Battles community…

Evidently you don’t realize: that creates an undesirable atmosphere for the majority to play in. Invisible ranks with true skill produces competition, Visible ranks produce bragging, ridicule, and the worst playing atmosphere the internet can provide.

Gamebattles is fun if you like to dispute every match you win with a 12 year old kid.

i like the invisible ranking idea because i can still see how good i am and see myself improve while also not having cheaters and 2nd accounters screwing everything up

> Gamebattles is fun if you like to dispute every match you win with a 12 year old kid.

Yeah, GB is not a good alternative. I also don’t care about people on GB. I want to compare myself to the general community.

You don’t need a skill based ranking system to notice improvement. You just need to look at your kill and death count. That’ll show how well your doing and checking your wins to losses. You look at that, you see how much better you’ve gotten. There you go.

How do you know that won’t happen?

Nope, because in an environment where you are matched with even skilled players your K/D = 1.0, your W/L ratio = 1.0. It won’t matter what your skill level is, eventually everyone will have the same stats.
