The carbine’s slightly better up close if you’re God.
I do feel the DMR is the best overall weapon in the game, but you can still have lots of fun and wreck people with every gun in the game. It’s all about the situation.

No you can’t. Because of flinch when shot, you can’t do -Yoink- with any other gun against a player using a DMR at medium-long distance.
I have completed the BR challenge, the DMR is boss, however for most maps other than Complex I go with the BR and seem to do well.
There’s no way to make any one happy. Best just chuck all the old guns out and start over for Halo 5. 343 just combine the BR with DMR and call it a DBR and that will sooth all these chapped behinds. Because there will be nothing to compare it to with nostalgia gumming up the works.

The light rifle and BR can both compete with the DMR. Also are you only shooting at people in medium-long distances? Try objective maps and see how well the DMR holds up against the AR or Suppressor in a face to face fight.

In Halo CE you could get by with just the Pistol, the DMR plays the same role being the the all round Utility weapon in Halo 4.
The DMR is not the problem, it’s the removal of weapon and power-ups from the map and the introduction of ordinance and instant spawn, That is what causes all the problems in Halo 4.
If 343 introduce power weapons back onto the map and the other team are controlling them, you would be crying out for a weapon such as the DMR.

It still isnt that hard for someone to just jump backwards and spam the DMR, yes they can take out users at the closest of ranges, but past about 5 ft for the supressor and about 10 ft with the AR the DMR can still win with ease.

This isnt CE anymore, 343 obviously wanted to change from previous halos having that one staple gun and have a variety of playstyles with all the different starter weapons, but the DMR is more capable than every other starter precision weapon leaving the automatic weapons for only the closest ranges which no map really suits pure close range play. So dont try and compare previous games to this one, its completely different
Call me crazy but I enjoy the overall set up of the game and do not miss the days of respawning with a very underpowered AR, and starting each match with a mad dash to the rockets, shotgun, etc… This game is not without its problems, however it is not as formulaic as previous Halos and once the ranking system and new maps are added I have faith that this might be the best one so far. Even with the DMR.

The DMR sucks at close range tremendously. It is beaten by every other rifle including Carbine and Light Rifle. All other Automatic weapons also beat it. DMR is only useful at long range and mid range.
Also, I hate the DMR, its ugly. I use Carbine majority of the time

If you lose all the time close range with the DMR you’re doing it wrong.
I’m sure 343 is aware of this already. There’s no point in making any more threads about this. They have the stats, so they know what’s going on. Either adapt or go play something else.

I smoke people up close with the carbine nine times out of ten. BR has a valid chance of winning at medium, and light rifle can beat it at long distance easily. DMR is a do all, but not the best at any range. It’s fine as is.
lolnope. BR is far more of a problem than the DMR is. Try and fight someone in CQB with an AR or other full auto? Too bad, headshots will kill you unless the BR user is totally useless.
Mid range? lolnope, BR can still spam faster and hits more easily. Only at extreme ranges does the DMR really out-pace it fairly.
