Well, whether or not that this is a beta, you can thank whoever is in charge for this disaster. I have never seen so many deliberate poor decisions with the lack of effort put into any Halo until infinite was released. On top of all of it, all the lies 343 stated about the game before it released.
Some wonder why the forums are so negative with all the complaining, but refuse to look at who is the actual cause of it.
If 343 wants respect then they need to man up and back up their own words instead of constantly lying to the player base. I used to really like playing Halo, but I can’t enjoy a game when a business priority is a lame shop and not attempting to create a decent type of game for their player base.
I know this well. I work in automation, so as contractors complete projects, I’m stuck needing to fix all the issues left behind. It can be stressful and frustrating for sure.
Right? Contractors have no vested interest in the company and maintenance of what’s been created. (This is definitely not a slight against contractors.)
If you hire me to code or write or design something in a certain way, that’s how it will be coded, written or designed. You do what the client asks, and you move onto the next job.
Novemember was the “beta” Period.
People say Season 1 is a beta because the came was released unfinished and it feels like a beta. Not that it is one. On paper this is a “full” release because the guns shoot, people move, and the store takes money and gives stuff.
In practice, the UI isn’t good, PC isn’t optimized, servers have problems. Game modes are missing or broken (I don’t even mean infection, grif ball, etc. What I mean is that even custom games won’t let us make those modes, and Forge is still missing)
The campaign doesn’t have mission select, nor co-op.
Vehicles aren’t balanced (not necessarily an “unfinished” thing, but neglected none the less) and mixed with the bad physics and collision are unusable in most situations (Which is unfinished dvelopment)
Then we had BTB not working, and before that the XP challenge system, and the 30 minute 2xp boosts. And Tenrai’s first event pass.
All of this was present during the November “beta”, but then also in the official December “release”. The fact that all this is considered the official release state, not a beta, is even worse. This is bad for a Beta, much less the actual game.
If they suddenly came out and pretended this was a beta all along, then that shows that the devs are lying to us and ensure further distrust.
You’re nitpicking details from the prelaunch period to create some hopium.
Its important to note that 343 also called what launched as the beta as the full launch experience. Which means if we were still in beta that mean season 2 is launching with nothing new either.
Its also important to note that 343’s own website separates the official patch note list between the beta and the Dec 8+ version.
Thank you for the clarification. I don’t see the point in furthering the conversation tho everyone here already pointed out that what you said is the case
