There better be an option to turn off sprint

If sprint is built into the player and cannot be turned off in custom games, that is a HUGE issue.

Sprint is arguably the most detrimental change Reach introduced to Halo. And that is saying something.

If H4’s classic playlist comes out with sprint, it may as well not exist.

it is really weird how they won’t let you at least choose, I guess they’re feeling very confident in it.

Embrace the change. Sprint felt like the one armour ability in reach that should have been standard anyway. I mean these are super soldiers, they shouldn’t really require an upgrade to run faster right ?

I like the idea of sprint…But I hated reach…It will make the game move faster imo…

> these are super soldiers

Yes, they are. So they should be able to run full speed all the time in all directions.

Ignoring the fact that gameplay comes way before canon of course.

If you don’t like it, don’t use it.
But I’m pretty sure that it can be turned off in custom games.

they had multiple reasons why they made sprint default, I don’t think they had a reason as to why its not able to be shut off though.

How will people running away from each other all the time make the game move faster?

Why did you mesh gameplay with Canon? If there’s something in a game that is terrible, but matches Canon, what would you do with it? Fix it or say that’s good because it’s Canon?

So you think something as simple as the ability to run faster is going to ruin gameplay ? Dont like sprint then don’t do it, simple.

Personally I think it fits in fairly well, plus its balanced like most other things in multiplayer. You sprint at your own risk of running into a sticky situation.

Your getting canon mixed up with MP.

If there isn’t an option to turn off sprint then the competitive side of Halo is absolutely gone, there is no other way about it.

This logic is so bad I don’t even know where to begin.

I say there will probably be an option to turn in off. Some playlists in Reach had no abilities and I think I played a few customs without no ability at all. I wouldn’t see why they wouldn’t do it.

“if you don’t like sprint then don’t do it”

made me laugh pretty hard

but seriously guys stop with the canon already, its a really poor argument to make.

because you can chase them and they slow down when shot

Implying that one person simply not using it will make the gameplay better.

There should be and if not. There will be Vanilla Halo gametypes for custom games and matchmaking.

There’s a sprint slow down mechanic when getting hit by bullets. If you’re positioned right, then maybe you’d get the kill or not. Even when positioned right, you aren’t always guaranteed that kill. You can’t always blame sprint for your problems, because you let him get away. It’s only logical to get close to by cover, and people escape many times just by movement speed alone. We all have sprint now, and movement speed will not be lowered to compensate for sprint. Also, bleedthrough is back.

Op, you’ve just stated buzz words that mean nothing without explanation. You may as well just say ‘Sprint will decrease the amount of skill needed for Halo’ as well, just to get all of those buzz words in.

Just looking at your list, the maps is the easiest one to answer. The maps are designed with sprint in mind, so where will the issue be in gameplay?

And seriously, decision making?! where did you pull that from, adding sprint makes the player consider if it is worth the risk if lowering the gun to move into position faster etc etc. On top of everything else.

And as for the cannon reason, not even a super-soldier would move at full speed all the time, you don’t sprint into combat without first checking out the area at least. I’m no military strategist but that is common sense. It would also be physically impossible, even machines have a shut off point when they overheat or something and Spartan’s are still humans.

I am more than happy to wait to see if sprint really makes a difference before throwing Halo out of my window.

The amount of people that have been able to run away from me is minimal. Most of the time people will stay and fight but on the rare occasion when someone trys to run it almost never works for them. It certainly never works for me.
