Especially since they got the absolute galaxy brain idea to make vehicles STRONGER, I find it more and more unlikely that a team of random nobodies will even shoot at vehicles.
I literally have to kill them all myself every match, and its exhausting. I never seem to be able to find the weapons to do it best because the nobodies I mentioned earlier have a nasty habit of taking every weapon and dying over on the enemy side of the map for some unknown reason…they’re just compelled to do it.
So that means the unkillable ghost and unkillable wasp and unkillable scorpion win the game because nobody even seems to realize that’s what’s killing them.
And it ruins my entire gaming experience and makes me want to delete the game after every match.
There needs to be more anti vehicle weapons on the maps, they reduced them and made vehicles stronger, which has caused the person in the vehicle to be unstoppable for free.
Why is it so hard for the designers to balance this game?
Case in point, I was just stuck in a game against a stacked team and nobody had any means of killing the wasp. This is pathetic. They’re not just making the game progressively worse, they’re doing it on purpose for some reason
Yup I feel you on that, even trying to find a Hydra on that map to take down a wasp is also redundant because for some reason 343 thinks it’s a good idea keep rotating its spawn outside the base.
The Hydra spawn should only be on top of the base or under the base while making its respawn a bit quicker because having no easy way to counter just makes BTB unbalanced
I’m not very good with the sniper (and similar) weapons, but I thought the Skewer was a one hit kill weapon. It doesn’t seem to damage the Wraiths (or maybe I’m a bad shot? )
The Skewer is basically useless against the tanks and wraiths. It really only works on wasps and banshees. Everything else besides mongooses takes two hits at least.
That’s eleven weapons that either immobilize or chunk vehicles.
Some are effective on their own others require/enable team work.
Plus all rifles do chip damage & stop vehicles from regening health whilst getting chipped.
Any more anti vehicle weapons & you might as well not have vehicles in the game.
Ghosts are a free kill (As is warthogs)
Just bait them to you & slap a sticky on them, wanna make it easier shock nade them or shock rifle then sticky. (nades spawn every 30s)
Learn map timings (12.45 is first spawn) & prepare for it & go get a weapon that will keel & turtle up
Hydra & camo is good combo to catch it unaware in a position for maximum amount of lock on spam.
Hydra & grapple is really good, use grapple to go airborne chain use grapple to become hard target & get really high up with good angle then hydra lock & spam.
Reason I opt for hydra is its underrated by many & normally pretty EZ to get & spawns every 1.30min & grapple is ever 1min.
If hydra is not base spawn go get it at its secondary spawn location simples.
Shock nades, shock rifle, hydra & grapple, scorpion/wraith are big enough ez enough to hit so use hydra free aim for more damage.
Also by the time a tank is dropped there will have been plenty ordinance drops.
Every 30sec if picked up straight away, every 1min if left un touched.
If its a weapon you don’t like/want/need still grab it then drop it again to keep ordinance dropping faster to increase chances of getting something good.
A stacked team vrs randoms is most likely always going to control the map/weapons/vehicles.
Its more of a matchmaking issue than a sandbox issue.
If you don’t want ganked by premade’s play in a group, if you wanna play solo suck it up.
A lot of people probably just “feel” like there were not enough Anti-Vehicle-Weapons since they mindlessly hate every weapon in general, so they don’t touch the actual good stuff.
Generally speaking, all Plasma and Hardlight Weapons work quite well (especially Heatwave).
Hydra is also quite good.
Those are non-power-weapons. They spawn quite frequently in every base.
Shock Grenades also spawn really often.
And if all this is not enough, there is the new grapple hook and even the Repulsor (Which can even deflect Scorpion and Wraith shots!).
This doesn’t mean everything is perfect right now. I agree that air vehicles sometimes are a little too hard to target. And a rampaging Scorpion is often the result of only 1 team getting one, while the other one gets a Gungoose…
So there are things that could be balanced. But keep in mind: If vehicles are too easy to destroy, people will complain, as well.
Almost nothing you just said is accurate or applicable. Half the weapons you listed don’t show up at all in any given game, most of them that do show up are only one spawn point on the map.
Your assumption that everyone driving the vehicles is dumb enough to fall for a hijack or grapple is also problematic. People have learned pretty quickly to avoid them.
Chip damage is nonexistent in this game. You will have died about 10 times before you begin to make a dent in the armor with your AR or Sidekick. Kinetic weapons are useless at fighting vehicles unless you hit the driver or gunner, and with many vehicles that’s not an option
Also you didn’t list the Ravager or Heatwave or Sentinel Beam. Unfortunately they all take more shots to kill vehicles now, and it’s pretty difficult to kill a ghost or warthog with them now since they can both kill you in less than a second. It’s hardly a fair fight when you have to use practically every shot of ammo in the gun to kill the vehicle that has infinite ammo.
And even the rockets And skewer take At least two shots so if that doesn’t Highlight the problem nothing will.
I have no issues finding most off them, must be a you problem.
Your the one assuming as I never said anything about going for grapple jacks, I said use grapple to get good position to do damage & be a hard target.
Its a team game & requires team shooting to do anything significant & if that’s all you got at the time then that’s what you have to do!
I don’t consider them reliable weapons, only time I will use them is if I have no ammo & that’s all there is nearby.
Last thing on my mind would be using them against vehicles TBH
Skewer can one shot ghosts & wasps, spanker can even one shot ghosts.
As for vehicles that need two shots I think that’s fair.
Sounds to me like you just want EZ OP weapon so you can get easy vehicle kills.
All I’m hearing is me me me! Vehicles hard! I cant solo kill them easy in team game!
It’s a team game where everyone is solo, and most of the people don’t even know where the trigger button is.
The weapons you said you don’t use on vehicles are all the most reliable and readily available anti vehicle weapons in the game…are you sure you know what actually works and what doesn’t? I have a relevant video if you’re interested (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wuTwIB1tIKA&feature=youtube)
All your assumptions are that everyone in the vehicles are little Jimmy at the slumber party. But one even remotely intelligent driver is getting free perfections on you. Especially if he has teammates backing him up with snipers etc. Remember, this is still AR starts.
There needs to be MORE spawns for weapons is my point. They removed a bunch or moved them out of reach. And no, two skewer shots to kill a warthog is stupid. You have time to shoot once and can’t even reload before it kills you. It’s a power weapon that only spawns in one spot on the maps, it shouldn’t take all its shots to do one thing.
Stop wasting shock rifle ammo on vehicles btw, that’s incredibly low cost efficiency. The rifle can kill 3 people for the same effort of emp’ing one vehicle, which doesn’t even damage the vehicle at all. It’s a huge waste of resources.
If you’re having no trouble finding any of these weapons it’s because you’re searching in a lobby with people who don’t pick anything up at all, because even bots will take them. It must be a very low skill SBMM match. I’m in much harder lobbies, often against teams of streamers and the like who understand map control.
Peak map design would be to put the Hydra/Skewer in the central area so the fight gravitates toward that location to secure the anti air weapon.
Examples of this in previous Halo maps are Avalanche and Standoff, both from Halo 3 that featured a lazer in the middle of the map.
For Highpower, the current Skewer spawn is perfect to securing Anti air but there are major problems with this in the current interation of Highpower:
The Wasps do not spawn the moment the match starts, leaving the player no urgency to secure the Skewer
Weapons despawn too quickly in Infinite, so securing the Skewer and dying with it is a bad bad bad bad deal
Hydras do not always spawn. You can have a Highpower map with no Hydras
Skewers do not 1 shot Wasps. Big problem for vehicular balance in Infinite in general.
The Skewer spawn is way too protected with plenty of cover from all sides. Bad design for a high traffic area
There is also a secondary power weapon spawn which sometimes spawns a Skewer (why?)
Lastly and most importantly: THE SKEWER DOESN’T ALWAYS SPAWN. SOMETIMES IT’S THE SNIPER WOW WTF
Infinite needs to do away with random spawn weapons entirely. Weapons spawns need to be static, players need to be able to learn the map, and then players need to be able to use that map knowledge to direct the flow of the battle.
This philosophy is also mostly absent from every single Infinite map, or 343 map in general.
Their philosophy is:
Randomness is good. Weaker players get a chance, always.
Maps should have very distinct “our side” and “their side”, usually carving the map in half with a huge wall/structure
What actually happens is this:
Randomness causes players to have no desire to explore the map. People will only visit X locations where all the fighting is happening in, and these indirectly creates pockets of conflict in a BTB map rather than using the entire map.
My biggest peeve. Most Infinite maps feel like they have a huge no man’s land down the middle and some maps like Highpower and Fragmentation even have something “large” in the middle to straight up cut off LoS between bases. It’s unnatural and it feels unsafe just crossing the threshold.
This also creates what I call “The middle is lava” syndrome which occurs because side lanes or indirect routes connecting the 2 bases/sides together are almost always safer from cross mapping. This creates the sense of essentially 2 trenches on the sides of the map while the middle is just begging for someone to snipe you as you cross the threshold.
Relating to this topic of map design, I’d like to link a video from our favourite Cursed Halo modder, InfernoPlus. He’s not exactly a professional map maker, but watch this and you can understand how he considers map design and placement, something 343 just lacks in their map designs.
That’s the matchmaking’s fault, you don’t do weapon balance based on that.
I don’t need to watch a video, I know what works for me & have good success destroying vehicles most games.
I agree that some of the weapons are placed badly plus I hate having different weapon rotations every game & that needs to stop.
Don’t agree that the skewer should OHK hogs that would be too easy & with all the other things that can be used they are already pretty easy throw in ordinance drops, free power weapons falling from the sky lol.
I will do what I want with the weapons I have, if a vehicle is attacking my base or team its getting shocked, gunner head shotted & a sticky if I’m close enough & if anybody gets out of that they are a easy clean up.
Shock rifle isnt just for easy ranged kills to stat pad K.D should maybe try it if you are having trouble with vehicles?
There you go making assumptions again, “my games are much harder” “I play against streamers”
Me me me ego ego ego!
I don’t care about who you play against the population pool is low most people in btb end up in games with them & you don’t make balance changes cos your ego got butthurt by some streamers.
My KD is nearly 3 in btb assume on that.
You don’t willfully imbalance the map layout just because everyone is bad either. They are very specifically encouraging vehicle players to run the game without resistance.
Your stats are hidden so I can’t verify your claim
The Shock Rifle is absolutely a stat pad weapon. It’s a better, more consistent sniper than the sniper rifle itself.
If your stats are extremely high, it’s because you’re fighting easier matches with no resistance. You don’t get a 3.0 with even matches
Literally every Shock Weapon can EMP every Vehicle, then there is the Skewer, the Cindershot, the SPNKR, the Sniper (even the Sniper is a Anti-Vehicle-Weapon in this Game), the Hydra, the Sentinel Beam melts through Vehicles & the Gravity Hammer almost one-shots Ground Vehicles once you’re in Range.
I’ve seen someone in this Thread complaining about the lack of the Spartan Laser - the Removal of the Spartan Laser was the best Decision. The Spartan Laser in H3 was always annoying, having a Hitscan Weapon that can almost one-shot every Vehicle across the Map was ridicilous and one of the very few Downsides in H3s Multiplayer.
Having bad Teammates shouldn’t justify placing overpowered one-shot Weapons across the Map. Vehicle Combat was always huge Part of BTB. The very tight lanes are already a Pain to deal with in Halo Infinites BTB, we don’t need further Restrictions to Vehicle Combat.
I hate vehicles and I want to destroy them. I want every single one to be completely obliterated to the point that it no longer exists.
I’m not asking a lot, I just want gun that will do that for me. Any gun will do.
Guess what, they put very few guns on the maps, and less than half the guns they put on the maps destroy vehicles, or even help you destroy them.
This system is IMBALANCED in favor of the vehicle people. I simply want more hydras, heatwaves, sentinel beams, and ravagers in reachable locations, or the ones that do exist should spawn faster to keep up with the vehicles which have near instant respawn timers.
