there are no perks !

343i never said there will be perks in halo 4 , they just said there will be some new abilities and someone asked if they will be similar to perks and they said " something like that " but that does not mean that they are actual perks from cod.

This thread wont stop me or other people from calling them perks in the game. I still call the squad abilities in BF3, “perks” only because its easier to say.

So, they are perks…

Exactly, they will be the unbalancing of this game.

As a Halo fan I cringe at the word “perks,” but ppl will call it whatever they want. Halo REACH has Loadouts w/ AA’s. CoD games have Loadouts w/ Perks.

Its not gonna be Halo meets CoD like everyone is thinking.

I for one am very glad to see that gameplay is expanding in the Halo Universe. Reach was a big step forward for Halo Gameplay, and I expect H4 to be leaps and bounds beyond what Reach offered.

Adapt and Overcome.

go back to playing Reach then. we want HALO 4, NOT REACH 2.

Fixed for you.

u know how similar Reach and Shadowrun are? The guy (SAGE) that balanced guns for bungie in reach worked on shadowrun. The DMR is the same as the rifle in shadowrun, with the same clip size. Both games also have bloom.

Both games have callout points above radar… etc. etc. etc. SAGE, U SINGLEHANDEDLY RUINED HALO

.

Yeah, they pretty much combined Halo and Shadowrun, and it ended horribly.

I don’t want reach 2. Nor do I want halo 3.5

I want Halo 4 to feel like a Halo game. If there’s new additions that keep gameplay balanced and keep the Halo trademark gameplay, then I welcome it.

Halo 2 was by far my favorite but I want the gameplay in H4 to offer more.

  1. Take Halo 2
  2. Balance BR dominance
  3. Remove Button Combos (sad-face)
  4. Up graphics
  5. Add Armor Customization (Uneffecting Gameplay)
  6. Add Theatre, Forge, and Spectator Mode
  7. Profit

Halo 2 Anniversary

> Halo 2 Anniversary

If this fabled “Halo 2 Anniversary” is true, it damn better come with its own multiplayer. And by its own multiplayer, I mean glitches/combos and all. God, I would never need to buy another game in my life.

Way to voice your own opinion… ppl amaze me in these forums…

> 343i never said there will be perks in halo 4 , they just said there will be some new abilities and someone asked if they will be similar to perks and they said " something like that " but that does not mean that they are actual perks from cod.

I think OP is right, that people jump to conclusions based on the name, but any ability in any game, even “skills” from RPG games are now a days commonly called perks, since more people know what you mean.
Homefront had “perks” that were very balanced and in no way made the game like CoD, it made it more into Halo + Battlefield, but that’s another story. Perks can add to the gameplay, they can add depth and tactics, they can make a game “more” in a very subtle way without destroying the balance like AAs did.
Haters gonna hate, and if 343i calls these “abilities” perks, the haters will focus on them instead of all other things, and when the game ships they’ll see they’re not as horrible as expected, and hence 343i can manipulate and re-direct the haters. From the game, the maps, gameplay and weapons, to the name of a feature.
Ingenious 343i

QFT

meh, might be more like section 8 prejudice or rainbow 6 vegas 2.

In section 8 you could decide your loadouts attributes, making your character a faster, stronger, or a bullet sponge

In rainbow 6 vegas 2 the more armor you put on the less damage you take, on the other hand, you lose agility.
