I guess people are assuming this is true because of the inclusion of an ads mechanic. But I have not seen any proof of this. Ever. So stop claiming this to be the case, or provide hard confirmation.

Ok, so it’s not 1 head-shot, like some people were claiming/believing, and it’s only when shields are down. Roughly a 2x bonus? Thanks for video confirmation.
Of course it’s only when shields are down - headshots have never mattered otherwise as all points of the shield take damage equally.
That said, this is a ridiculous mechanic. Fights between automatics were already random, but now they’ll be even worse just because someone can potentially get lucky and have a few stray bullets hit the enemy in the face. 343i will either completely fail to acknowledge that they made this change or they’ll portray it as some kind of “unintentional consequence” like they have portrayed flinch - those are their normal ways of responding to complaints and concerns.
