There are 120 different ways to monetize Halo, selling a color for $10 is not the way

Seriously, selling colors and armour for $10-20 that work with only one set is ridiculous.

That’s 1/4 of what a full game costs these days and it’s disgusting to say the least.

The Halo community has waited 6 years for a new Halo title and right out the gate the Halo veterans and the new players are greeted with a butchered battlepass designed to milk whales and likely get a lot of kids in trouble for using their parents credit card.

To me it almost seems you missed a decimal point in the stores prices, 1000 points = $1 for a color seems more reasonable than 1000 points = $10 for a color or armour piece.

Doing a bait and switch with the recent free event armour, showcasing the paid armour in your articles while the armour we get looks relatively hideous.

The only official word we have gotten is a passively aggressive Reddit post from Ske7ch.

Instead of cutting the battlepass up and forcing us to buy items to complete sets that your loyal fans from the Reach era you could have actually made worthwhile items/skins/emotes. But you picked the easy route and now everything surrounding Halo is a radioactive dumpster fire.

Out of curiosity, could you name those 120 ways?

120 is a reference to the achievement for completion the original battlepass. 343 cut 20 key items from it, forcing us to buy them to complete the sets from Reach.

If I had enough time I could list a good number different ways to monetize the game but honestly some of the best ways are up in the main post.

  • Armour effects
  • Skins
  • Emotes
  • Grenade skins (seriously, throwing a yellow pineapple frag grenade would be printing money)
  • Whacky interesting armour sets
  • Different MP voice overs
  • AI voices like Johnson/Brute/Prophet/Buck.
  • XP boosts that last longer than 1 hr.
  • Yearly subscription that unlocks the store items
