Do you think that they purposely made the maps free because these maps were pretty much done or just about done when the game came out and that many people have been complaining about NUMEROUS problems with the game so they wanted to make it up to us?
I’m not sure if Microsoft would want to do this/want this to happen because they lose money, but I honestly don’t know much.
This is very damn interesting because we all know Microsoft to be pretty damn greedy, but in order for them to maintain their fans for the next game/future, they had to make it up to us.
Bungie has given away free maps to the Halo community for free many times after the maps became old for example Heroic map pack. Cold storage was also a remake that they did for the community.
Bungie had an insanely hard time getting MS to make old map packs free in H3. They wouldn’t even let them give a price cut even though the maps had been out forever.
There is no way this is intentional. Microsoft messed up, BIG. Not complaining though…I probably wouldn’t have the maps otherwise. At least not yet, I was considering nabbing the map pass after I got some birthday money (end of the month, woo!)
Shame it nowhere near the truth. Sometimes the truth is boring. In this case its a simple error on MS part, no nefarious reasons for it. Not everything is a conspiracy.

Agreed and at least the Pass also comes with 2 helmets and an emblem as well so they weren’t screwed to the max, but it still sucks for LE users

Well I didn’t really pick a side, but if I had to, I would think Microsoft would never do this in a million years. So yeah, they Yoinked! themselves badly.
