I have a feeling that the Master Chief found a prototype of the armour aboard the Forward Unto Dawn.
343i said in an interview that the game was set a few years after the events of Halo 3 and we never have seen the inside of the Forward Unto Dawn.
This has probably been brought up before, but what do you guys think?
Well… Either Cortana has something to do with it or no he didn’t. I mean, it’s an OK theory, but I’m not sure we’re “supposed” to wander around inside the FuD… Halo 4 probably starts off where Halo 3 ends, waking up from the cryosleep. That eliminates the possibility of Chief gearing up for another event.
Yet again, speculations. I’d like to see Chief gearing up like he did in Halo 2:3 Good stuff.
Or maybe they are showing what the new armor is going to look like in the trailer. When the the UNSC, or ONI picked up Cortanas beacon. They brought a set of the MARK VII armor, or what ever new model it would be.
From what I read the armor from the trailer is the MK VII armor. He supposedly gets it early in the game. So even though its out of place they showed him with it in the trailer because the MK VI is used for such a short time it doesnt make sense to showcase it in a trailer
I would think that either there is an engineering area of what is left of the FoD that Cortana has been using to create upgrades for Chief, on the Forerunner structure it gets upgraded or changed, or he is discovered by UNSC forces that are able to bring him the armor.
I’d wager 343i were simply showing us the new armor in the teaser. I’m guessing since the new book trilogy is the lead-in for Halo 4… that at some point shortly after landing/crashing on, what I’m dubbing, the Super-Ark (Installation 00 Alpha maybe since there’s suppose to be multiple Arks)he acquires the new gear.Spoiler marker added later. Sorry for not marking in initially.
my idea is that in the trailerhe wasn’t even on the FoD If you look at halo 3 FoD and the ship he’s on at the end of the halo 4 trailer, there back end are different. and 343 hasn’t said that it was FoD exactly just that we know from the end of halo 3 that he was on FoD plus they said unspecified amount of time passed. what do you think about that???

Ya from what I remember, John’s didn’t have that, hence why his armor looked more beaten in 3 than it did in 2. And I highly doubt Crysis was the first to have suits with nanobots.

Nah… it was. haha I’m not sure if that’s entirely true but nothing comes to mind for me. I’m a very shallow gamer so I really wouldn’t have any idea. I only play top titles because I can’t stand multiplayer that dies after a few months of release.
My theory for Halo 4 (and the armor) is as follows: John is awakened from his cryo-tube by Cortana while the UNSC Foward Unto Dawn is drifting through space near the “Legendary Planet” (Shield World). The ship crash lands on the shield world, and John is revived by Fred, Kelly, and Linda (now all crew members aboard the UNSC Infinity. All 3 spartans are outfitted with the MJOLINR Mk-VII suit. John is given a suit and all 4 spartans are sent to the surface of the planet to retrieve fore-runner tech.
TLDR; Fred, Kelly, and Linda give John the MJOLINR Mk-VII suit.

Totally different the nanosuite uses the nano bots for everything from health and shields speed its the reason the solder is so powerful. And Crisis was not the first to have nano bots by any stretch, nano bots have been around for forever, matter of fact in the late 90s alot of shows, games, movies, comic, and books used Nano bots. Halo’s use of nano bots is only used for repair and maintenance, only when it in cryo or powered down.
I have a much better idea. Several years have passed in gaming and in that time we’ve learned how to show off and implement better visuals and design for anything and everything within videogames.
(to be honest, Master Chiefs design was looking a little dated in Halo 3)
That, or to avoid getting sued by the original designer they altered the look.
The trailer wasn’t canon so chief might get his armour after exiting cryosleep. Maybe Coratana scanned the ship, found the armour and woke chief up to put it on in case they don’t have time to upgrade later.

why would they be sued by Bungie, they past on the Ip to 343. That means all rights that means everything visuals and all.
graphically yes it has advanced, but seeing as 343i’s Frank O’Connor Said that though the appearance was partially because of update graphic and artistic vision, but he also said that there’s a reason(canonically) why it has changed thus the almighty “missing cod piece”

I believe Franky said there was a canonical reason for his altered look, and that the Teaser was not canon, so don’t use it for reasoning.

Excuse me? There are multiple Arks? That undoubtably needs an explanation.
