Theory on the armor

I think with the showing of a classic armor style with the OG 117 tag shows us the intent to remove things like sprint/AA. I think this because it is an “older looking” modle and like the OG armor, so that leads me to think that the devs plan to have it play like the OG trilogy and remove sprint and AA.

Reach had the same armor style and had both of those things. I wouldn’t read that much into it. On the 23rd we will know for sure.

I think that 343 will appease to both sides of the playerbase by keeping sprint and maybe thrust for the newer fans while getting rid of clamber, ground pound, spartan charge, and sliding for the older fans. They could potentially re-add armor abilities to make up for the removed bits of advanced mobility.

It could also work in the opposite way, putting back classic armor to conpensate for the spartan abilities and sprint to remain.
Further more, the 117 tag is a new appearance in the games and actually the practive of implementing the tag anywhere on the spartan first was introduced in halo 4 in some form of code on the chest (as a game) but first appeared anywhere in visual media is halo legends (an animated episode series). before that it only was ever described as such in books (which to the bungie community wasnt as cannon as the games).

For the most part the Reach armor abilities were pretty nice and gave you options for extra movement on the map. I wouldn’t mind seeing movement like that make a return to give us that more classic feel, while also giving the ability to pick and choose an extra way for us to move around the map.

The Gen 3 mjolnir armor you see in Halo Infinite is apparently suppose to be a call back to the Gen 1 in terms of performance and armor protection which some considered more favorable (at least according to the Official Spartan Manual). But one question remains is how classical Halo Infinite’s gameplay will be since John placed his Assault rifle vertically instead of diagnoally, something introduced in Halo 5 to accommodate for the Spartan Abilities. I can imagine a interesting cross between both old and new in Infinite which I wouldn’t mind since I liked the Spartan Abilities.

super doubt it. They did a lot of work to add and balance those systems into Halo. If anything, sprint and some abilities will be removed but not all. I dont think sprint is being removed though

Not to be rude but how does Chief’s placement of his rifle affect Spartan abilities?

I think its more to do with Cortana but won’t know for sure until the game comes out.

No but that small trait of mounting weapons vertically started in Halo 5 when thruster packs began being used in gameplay. It’s safe to assume Spartan Abilities may return to some extent.
