Theory on Infinite's story

I was watching an LNG video about Halo Infinite and at 6:35 my mind just came up with all these possible routes the story could have went. Let’s JUMP IN. Feel free to revise these or post your own.
After Halo 5 there was a battle at Zeta Halo (the ring damaged in the Discover Hope trailer), and obviously we lost. While thinking of the types of ways this can go, I compare it to Avengers: Infinity War, and Star Wars. In the MCU, after the Thanos snap (a huge battle to stop it), our heroes lost. And the aftermath leaves almost the same feeling in the Infinite trailer. In Star Wars, the Jedi are almost destroyed and the aftermath (A New Hope) is an Empire controlled galaxy. This battle in Halo, left part of the ring destroyed and our forces against… Cortana, defeated. In this theory, I’m going to say we called the majority of the UNSC forces to this battle, making it the biggest battle in that time could offer. Similar to the fall of Reach. I do not know why Cortana would need a Halo ring, and why we had to try and stop her. This would also make it possible for a prequel, again, like Reach. Although I have heard that the trailer is an opening cenimatic, and takes place directly after Halo 5. Which makes little time to explain what happened to the ring and why we lost. If you have any ideas, I’d like to hear.

im thinking we get a prologue much like how 4 and 5 did then we get into that opening cutscene

If there’s one thing worse than Star Wars, it’s superhero movies. Could you not think of any other comparison? Literally anything else?

I agree with HaloCrysisKIA88 that we might get a prologue before this cut scene that will set up the universe, at least for new fans who are looking to use this game as a jumping off point.

As for your theory, I also got a lot of Infinity War vibes. Perhaps the UNSC gathered all their forces that were left and tried to take down Cortana, but failed. Now, to continue your Star Wars comparison, the UNSC has become the rebels (which fits nicely with the main plot of Bad Blood), and are waging a guerrilla war against the Created. The battle at Zeta Halo would have been the final blow if the UNSC had won, but they didn’t. So now the Chief will have to pick up the pieces and finish the fight with nothing more than a few allies like the unnamed pilot from the trailer.

Lol no offense but I assumed thats how it was portrayed to go. The pilot said we lost obviously stating there was a battle there. It had to be about cortona somehow just because of all the problems surrounding her in H5

For the Avengers, we get the huge buildup and battle. They all lose, and the aftermath is a silence, as in no more battles for a time. This resembles the Discover Hope trailer where the ring seems to be not active and damaged. So there has to be a cause for this.
Consider th fall of Reach. Where we see the height of the UNSC military and forces go to battle, lose and Reach is battle scared. Just like the ring.
