In the Halo 5 audio logs, there is a Forerunner Builder that is still alive, looking for something by the name of Bastion. While looking for it, Cortana finds him and begins hunting him. The Builder becomes nervous when he finds out that Cortana and the Warden have taken control of the Guardians. Blue Team has Cortana and Warden distracted, thus allowing the Builder to locate Bastion, with him setting off to find it. In cut dialogue, Bastion is identified as Shield World 0983. This is not a very original theory, but I want to put it out there and see what you guys think. What if the Builder makes it to Bastion, Shield World 0983, where there are other surviving Forerunners. After reuniting with other members of his species, he could inform them of what is happening in the galaxy; Cortana taking the Guardians and making a galactic dictatorship. The Forerunners could then return to the galaxy at large and put an end to Cortana’s actions, and that could include teaming up with the other species, including Humanity. What are your thoughts?

It would kind of come full circle if the iso didact and the new librarian were on bastion

Sadly that’s very unlikely. After rebooting the Domain, Bornstellar and Chant-To-Green settled down on a planet and abandoned all their high tech (though they still kept their armor and ship but didn’t use them anymore), and they had a son. Would be cool if their son was at Bastion though.

I know all about that, but what if they all went to bastion or like you said if it’s there son that would be cool
Interesting. I will have to go back through the audio logs. A forerunner builder could in theory have the know how to deactivate the Halos and Guardians permanently. Hmmmm, guess we will have to wait till 343 announces Infinite release date

She was on Earth as you said. Gotta wonder if she left any surprises for us other than the imprints and the UNSC/ ONI just never found it yet or never unclassified it to the public yet.

Its possible I guess though:
- Bornstellar and the new Librarian would not likely be in this returning group of Forerunners. Bornstellar and Chant settled outside the Milky Way and forsook advanced tech to live naturally and (assumingly) die after a normal lifespan without armor. - The other 100 or so forerunners that survived on the Lesser Ark and helped Bornstellar and Chant re-seed the galaxy could have gone a different path than Bornstellar’s apparent exile from the galaxy and instead planned to return if / when needed. In this case Bornstellar and Riser’s final conversation on the beach of Hawaii of Forerunners and Humans living later as brothers could come true, but thats a stretch - I don’t think any of the 100ish remaining forerunners would reseed the galaxy and then live in shield worlds in the galaxy for 100,000 years. I think (correct me if wrong) that Bornstellar and the late Master Builder’s feeling of deep regret and shame was shared by all remaining forerunners and they wanted to let the galaxy regrow without them / their influence entirely. So living in and maintaining the shield worlds would contradict this as only the insane Ur-Didact wanted to do this.
That’d be cool. I also had a theory a while back. More wishful thinking, but I’ll leave a link in case you are interested.

If this were actually the case for all Forerunners , it is a moot point as all of the technology that they left behind is still going to influence the universe in some way , to accomplish said goal they would have to have wiped all of their tech from the Galaxy ,(An impossible job for such a small number of beleaguered individuals). I believe they left the Galaxy so that it would be free from their manipulations and maneuverings ; free to grow naturally with out their influence is impossible. I think it would be conceivable that a small number remained in case they were ever needed.
