Topic Quick Note: Halo CE, 343 Guilty Spark said something very interesting to Chief which connected dozens of stories within Lore, leaving me in chills. We all know about the Librarian indexing mankind, and how Chief is theorized to have an essence of the Ur-Didact in him. WELL, HERES THE THING…
Why did the journalists say he found things about the Chief, things that doesn’t allow him to write a perfect Hero’s story? I am sure it is not because he ran away because a Hero who saved the earth multiple times does not just be framed a Traitor that easy, nor do I think it is because of the Spartan II program, that is old news. Chief is a Hero, what could he have done to spark such a debacle with this journalist?
THIS IS THE CROSSROAD…
The UNSC/ONI have been playing with Forerunner tech, and documents all the information they get. What’s better than more intelligence? Yeah, that’s right! Even more!. ONI keeps secrets from everyone, we know this. The journalist asks if the Chief keeping us safe; why the hell would he ask that? Unless, he found something… Something deep, did the ONI/UNSC researchers find something related to the above theorized statement about the Ur Didact and Chief? Making the theory canon!
THEY MUST BE SCARED, WHY ELSE IS IT A BIG DEAL HE TOOK A VACATION…?
Chief has saved humanity multiple times, I am sure where his loyalties lay. He left the UNSC without reason, so why do they want him back so bad? I don’t think they want him to pay his taxes, or pay off his college debt. Who makes a Hero pay? They want him back because he either has something of theirs, or he has a “Dark Unknown Secret” about himself that he has yet to learn.
CONCLUSION…
I think that the UNSC and ONI find him to be an impending threat, Chief is looking, but for what? Does ONI know? do they not want him to learn? Learn something about himself, something that could make him turn against them? I believe they are acting so hard on this because they want to isolate him, make sure there are no chances of him becoming an enemy.

also I think that ONI has fabricated something about the Chiefs past in order to change the perception of him being a hero into a traitor. That’s what I believe the reporter meant when he said people aren’t who they say they are, as they are using false of entity’s when using ONI propaganda
