So as many of us know since there have been a few threads about it on the forums(spoilers for people who don’t want to know any little thing about campaign)
There appears to be only 3 Blue Team missions and the other 12 are Osiris missions. Now I don’t know what happens in any of these missions but assuming the spread is what it appears to be, we’re going to be playing as Osiris a lot. That’s all fine by me as it should be fun and interesting(although I’ll never complain if they give me more Chief!) but I have a theory as to why this might be. What if the reason this Halo game has a subtitle is because this is a prequel game to a real Halo 5 coming out later that will feature Chief more prominently?
It’ll be like a Halo 3: ODST type thing except we get the prequel before instead of after. Or maybe I have too much time on my hands…
They already said they wanted to move away from numbered games
The reason is because they want to get rid of the numbers. I forgot when it was mentioned, I believe around E3 last year.
They want to go away from numbered games, which is confirmed.
However, they may just want to expand Halo as a whole instead of having to do the whole numbered thing. We may be seeing games that have nothing to do with Chief or Locke at all sometimes, a la Halo Reach.
Yeah i hope they balance it and and let Chief and Locke share the gameplay evenly, now that would make it a good game
Cause they realized “Halo 12” would just sound weird when the time would come. Lol.
Soo… Halo 5: 5 will come out when?

Ah that would be interesting. I’m always down for spinoff Halo games, especially if they introduce cool new modes like Firefight from ODST.

Some Halo Inception stuff going on there…
I wish I had a theory but I’ve literally been thinking abouot this for 20 minutes and nothing.
The trend of having numbers behind their games are slowly going away. A lot of studios and publishers want to stray away from having numbers in their titles.
They’re getting rid of the numbers because they don’t want to become like Final Fantasy, which is in it’s 14th? 15th game?
Whatever, the point is, they want to kep making Halo games for the next 20 to 30 years and Halo 15 would sound pretty ridiculous.

Because they see the growing backlash from consumers about not having an original product. Lots of gaming sites and comments on said sites are increasingly negative towards sequels or reboots.
It’s called re-branding , companies , countries , and governments have been doing it for years to adjust or alleviate negative public perception.
CoD no longer has proper numbers, just their sequels to each individual series. Advanced Warfare, Ghosts, and probably the next onw wont have any number associated with them. Its probably in relation to that. On Xbox, Halo is almost as big as CoD anyway
12 osiris missions? what the… is 343 doing??
The more halo games the better imo. Just hope they don’t milk the franchise
