Anybody want to guess how many years have gone by between the H3 and H4? They’ve dropped small threads in Halo Glasslands as to how Cortana could survive past the seven year life span for her type of AI and how the Chiefs armor could change in cryo.
I dont mind a couple of years (Distance from Earth is the ultimate concern), but they better not pull a “Bruce Campbell Vs. the Army of Darkness” on us!
“Agggh! I slept TOO LONG!”
And the suit? Why not a Mjolnir Mark VII?

Ahh Army of Darkness classic. Yeah I’m about to finish Glasslands and it drops a hint here and there. I remember reading in the first version of the Halo encylopedia in some section that escapes me at the moment but there was a spot where somebody that was a soldier and he was recalling a battle with Master Chief involved and how a lot of folks think he is dead but a few still thinks he is alive and have been searching for him for over fifty years. This is spaeking past tense Halo 3 events. But in Glasslands it was mentioned how Dr. Halsey stole a slipspace drive to find a way of extending AI life spans. This may not interest you if you don’t read any of the story fiction.
It’s already been said, it takes place in 2554, one year after the end of Halo 3.

proof?

Forza 4.

i hardly call that proof. Sure it shows the model but does it really have any correlation to Halo 4?
any proof to prove your claim needs to be officially announced from here.
I honestly have no idea. the number 74,000 is stuck in my head…
…But that probably is more along the lines of how many ghouls I’ve killed with Molotov cocktails. Haha.
…
…
Myth reference? No one? K.
With seriousness though, I doubt it has been an astronomical amount of time, I believe characters like halsey and the remaining Spartans have stories to be heard in the games to come.

Because the model of the car and the information regarding it was supplied by 343 Industries. Where’s your common sense?

I actually recall O’Connor himself saying that the model year doesn’t necessarily correlate to the date that the game itself takes place in, sometime around Halo Fest.
Although I don’t have a source just yet, I will most indeed post it when/if I find it.

Well I don’t think the Infinity or In Amber Clad could easily pop back to Earth anytime they want to be all like “YO, GIVE US THE NEW WARTHOG MODEL NOW!!!” then instantly pop back to where they were an instant before with the new vehicles. In plus, it’s possible that we’re going to get this new model of Warthog off of the In Amber Clad anyway, and I don’t think that’s been anywhere close to any UNSC planet for a while. Think about it for two seconds. Or if you want to put it in the words you used, “Where’s your common sense?”
Anyway, I’m guessing that it’ll be in 2556 at the earliest. If we take a look at that episode of Halo Legends that’s called Origins (I believe it’s that anyway), we see that Cortana and John are still drifting in space and that the year is 2556.

You could be right. But who would know as stated when spartans enter cryo chamers it significantly slows down their aging so chief could be in there for even 10 years…
Well let’s think everyone slipspace is a -Yoink- to time correlation, hell the jump could’ve been 5 years but to chief a few minutes, who knows? All I know is that his armor did not change completely while in cryo he’s still in his mark VI armor because that scar on his right breast remains, he might get an armor change later from Halsey or sof (if they appear).
The E3 trailer is not canon.

They talked about the Slipspace AI experiments in the Data Pads in Reach. The experiments were all failures but it could be used as part of the plot in the future, maybe to save Cortana from her Rampancy?

This Sparkast confirmed that the events depicted in the trailer are “definitely not a part of the real game story” and that the trailer is intended as a teaser only.
^^^^ thank you was too lazy to do it myself

Ok thank you, so the game could pretty much end up looking nothing like the teaser?

We honestly don’t know how accurate the trailer is. The trailer wasn’t made in engine, nor was it made by 343. It was developed by agencytwofifteen, produced by Digital Domain, and filmed at Anonymous Content. Even the music was composed by an outside source (Neil Davidge and Human Worldwide). It is likely that everything in the trailer was based on stuff created for the game but even that could have changed dramatically since then.
