After watching the trailers for Halo: Infinite and seeing Halofollower’s videos, what do we think of the UNSC Infinity’s fate?
There was obviously a lack of appearance as to avoid any spoilers but do we think it’s retreated for repairs, been destroyed, or simply just hasn’t made an appearance. I loved the idea of this massive flagship which dominated in battles, it has a massive list of armaments and many capabilities and it would be a shame to see it destroyed so easily.

I liked the Infinity but it had reached a point where it was a bit OP in the story. My guess it has been destroyed by the Banished or even Cortana using some Forerunner technology.
Gone, reduced to atoms.
A war happened at Zeta Halo. We lost, the Banished control the ring and there’s an awful lot of wreckage in orbit to the ringworld. I think that the Infinity, similar to the Pillar of Autumn in CE, was destroyed but had a few surviving personnel.
If it is destroyed I want it to be done by an immense power, I would like to see it deploy all of it’s power and still fall, would make for a good cinematic.
Likely already destroyed at the beginning of Infinite’s story. Any personnel/ weapons not caught in the vacuum of space have probably fallen onto installation 07’s surface - to be scavenged by our big green hero. The aforementioned audio logs that will be part of the campaign might be linked with the locations of fallen debris. What’s more, the Infinity might have ended up at installation 07 prior to the events of Infinite similar to how it was led to Requiem a la Halo 4, or the Pillar of Autumn a la Halo CE. Here we have an opportunity for the expanded universe lore to be included in these audio logs linked with the Infinity.
The Infinity (or its AI) might have been chock-full of useful Forerunner info (that was used to locate Installation 07) before being destroyed. To this end, it might not have been an accident that the Infinity, with all of its resources and data, was to be cornered and destroyed at installation 07. Someone - or something- on the ring has ulterior motives.
I hope its in the game, even if its just as a prelude cutscene to show what happened to the ship. Itd be a shame if it was destroyed off screen.
