Theme of the castle map pack

What are your ideas on what the theme of the upcoming castle map pack will be.

After that then spartan ops season 2.

CASTLES! Duh.

On a serious note, maybe a mixture of both big and small maps?

the title “Castle” makes me think of maps that will be suited for more attack/defend scenarios. Like 1-flag CTF

What sort of environments would you like to play in in the Castle Map Pack and/or future DLC? Halo 4 has done a considerably better job than reach did of giving each map its own aura and feel. What sort of stuff would you like to see i the future? Here are some of my ideas.

Deep Space
There are a few player made maps set in space, but in general the maps in Halo 4 are land based. I’d love a map like Boarding Action or Midship that distinctly feels like it is set in space. I’d love to see 343i use those player trait zones they created and have sections of the map with zero gravity like Halo Reach’s Zealot.

Inner City
Headlong is probably the closest halo map to what I’m talking about. It’s really more of a call of duty style map, but it would be really cool to play in a tight, close quarters, lots of really close 2 story buildings would be cool. Call it “Boltshot Heaven” maybe?

Linear Battlefield
A long battle field that basically directs everything to one main battlefront. Gephyrophobia from Halo CE PC was like this, and narrows was created in the same vein. Large BTB vehicle heavy, like the highway level from Halo 2 campaign. Would be funz :slight_smile:

Water Based
Due to the fact that spartans can’t swim, this has never really been done, but it would be AWESOME to see a map that is centered around water, not just featuring it off to one side like in Headlong, Hemorrhage, Zanzibar. Either underwater, or just over the water. An underwater aquatics facility would be awesome (we have oceanic armor, why not a map.)

Just some ideas, what are y’all’s ideas!?

I can haz UNSC Attack Boat?
i really want to see the UNSC “wet” navy in action for once

the map i’d like is a fully armed space station
you play 5v5 slayer inside,

and you can play a cool invasion-like game using starfighters, and point-defense guns

one team attack the station, the other team defends it

Thanks for posting these. I was all but certain that the concepts for this map pack would be set already. But I thought it would be fun to discuss what environments we would like to play in. Daybreak looks awesome! Looks like colorado :slight_smile:

Well, I think it’s probably a mixture too as others have said…small to big maps, that is, hopefully, one of each. But, as the Crimson Map Pack introduced the new game mode Extraction and, the Majestic Map Pack introduced FFA, I wonder what will be the ‘new’ game mode introduced with the Castle Map Pack. Any guesses?

No worries. I was digging through some old bulletins recently looking for official images of things and saw these. I made a note of the link in case anyone wanted to know about the maps.

I think Outcast may well be pretty similar to the Spartan OPs map called Warrens.

King of the hill?

Yeah, I’m really hoping the Hornet makes a comeback. Thay’ve already got the model since it appears in Skyline in Majestic, but I’m hoping it’s playable on Daybreak :slight_smile:

Big maps perfect for UNSC aircraft

I really want the Hornet back
i was really bummed when i didn’t come with Vanilla Halo 4
and it really pissed me off when 343i added a Hornet track model in Skyline without letting us use it

there was an article about how Castle map pack will be playable in PAX or something on March 22

the article said the following:
