Halo 5: Guardians needs a truly memorable, iconic battle between newer and older characters in the Halo Universe. One epic battle that should not be overlooked is a fierce conflict between Sangheilis Thel Vadam (Arbiter) and Jul 'Mdama. Arbiter, an ally of the human race after learning of the true purpose of the Halo Array and the propaganda of the Covenant Prophets, has been ignored since the end of Halo 3. Meanwhile, Jul 'Mdama, an enemy of the humans unable to let go of the promise of “The Great Journey”, desperately needs an execution, and one by a member of his own race couldn’t be more fantastic. It just makes sense in terms of a bold and iconic milestone in the Halo Universe, and would, no doubt, be one of those moments fans love, remember, and talk about for years to come.
I would love to see a sort of energy sword “Jedi lightsaber” battle. I imagine Jul 'Mdama, being much stronger, severely punishes Arbiter for betraying the Covenant and its promising “Great Journey”. Then Arbiter uses something in his immediate environment to finish Jul 'Mdama in some swift, badass maneuver.
Let’s hear your ideas on how the fight between Arbiter and Jul 'Mdama should take place.
NOTE: Such an event has not been declared as part of the official Halo Universe in any way, shape, or form. This topic is merely a fan-inspired imagining of what the author would like to see, and what he imagines to be something all Halo fans, new and old, would come to love and be satisfied by.
jul mdama does not believe in the great journey, he just takes the humanity as the biggest threat in the galaxy and just has hatred towards humanity and says they can not be trusted
but a sword battle between arbiter and jul would make me -Yoink- in my pants! so yeas pleas giv mi dis an i be hapy
I’d rather see the two join forces in defense of their species. Jul may convince the Arbiter to be more cautious in his dealings with humans and the Arbiter may be able to convice Jul that exterminating humanity isn’t the best option for preserving the Sangheili.
Actually, Thel is a lot better than Jul. Arby was Supreme Commander of the Fleet of Particular Justice, which was the fleet that glassed Reach, so he has more experience and stuff than Jul.
Jul vs Thel, hey? Close, Jul having updated tech (Thel’s camo module isn’t good- Halo 2) and Thel’s awesomeness. My brain says Jul, but my heart says Thel- tough to call.
If Jul kills Thel in direct combat, I’d rage pretty -Yoink!- hard. Even Jul knows he can’t beat Thel directly, because otherwise, he would have attempted to assassinate him at the start of Glasslands. No. Jul would run, the correct choice when faced with fighting Thel.
Brain and heart tell me Thel Vadam. He was Supreme Commander, Kaidon, and well-trained in swordsmanship. A better match, maybe, would be Avu Med 'Telcam against Arbiter, seeing as 'Telcam is much older and experienced than Jul.
If you really want to do the whole Star Wars thing, Thel and Jul can face off while John and Locke are fighting somewhere else.
I definitely don’t think Thel will let Jul’s actions slide; he continued the Covenant which is definitely not what Thel wanted. Also, it probably would be more of a chase between Locke and John.

I would love for this to happen! It would work well with the Master Chief and Blue Team supposedly going AWOL.

I doubt that would happen since Jul has alrady tried to assinate him.

When? He has thoughts, yet never went through with it. Jul 'Mdama seems to have had little to no effect on the attempted distruption of the conference at Ealen IV.
