Old bookmarked films will now play, although they will not rewind or FF.
soooooo that’s good? The theater in halo 5 is pretty bad and needs to be redone.

Yes and I agree. It is better because they fixed the glitch that prevented older bookmarks from playing. Letting the community know in case they had old bookmarks they wanted to view.
That’s good. Now I want is in-game screen shots to be taken from theater, that would also need the file browser.

You can take a theatre screenshot by double clicking the Xbox button.
Theater is much worse now. Post Hammer Storm, even more serious bugs have appeared than the ones that were fixed. I’m glad they fixed the Join-in-Progress bug not showing the correct gamertag, and making old bookmarked films playable again, but they’ve broken more than they fixed.
New bugs:
-
Recent games played frequently don’t appear in the Theater list. You have to quit the build several times before they’ll randomly reappear. - Watching 1st person view, Theater will randomly jump to other players’ view while still attributing all the original players’ gameplay actions to the new person (the result is the new person being watched looks like they’ve gone full retard.) - Watching 3rd person, Theater will randomly switch so that other players’ gameplay is attributed to the player you’re watching (the result is it sounds like you are attacking and getting hit markers when you aren’t even in combat. - At least once, I’ve seen the camera jump from 1st person to freecam on it’s own (screen still says 1st person; will correct itself if player dies.) - Sometimes Blue team members are shown with Red team gamertag at the bottom of the screen (and vice versa.) Otherwise they are normal. - Sometimes Blue team members shows up with Red armor in Theater and Red team gamertag at the bottom of the screen (and vice versa. Result is it looks like you’re ignoring enemies and fighting teammates. Those are just new bugs, and I’ve seen them both in Theater and while Spectating. There are still old annoying ones like:
-
1st person view pulsing when watching smart-link fired weapons (it looks like someone is quickly scoping, firing, and unscoping repeatedly when they are in fact just holding smart-link - Strobing outlines of players far away - Players whose gamertags completely disappear (they cannot be found in the list of people to watch and can’t be followed in 1st or 3rd person, the kill feed just shows a blank spot instead of their GT (sometimes the kill-feed only has a symbol of the kill weapon and no GT for either player even), and post Hammer Storm even movement data is missing sometimes. They appear to just slide in place without turning, firing out the sides or back of their bodies. - Positioning anomalies in general that make bullet magnetism appear stronger in Theater than it actually is in-game - The camera completely loses focus on a gamertag if the player is incinerated (GT completely disappears from players you can watch, and you have to wait until they respawn until you can find them again.)
That’s just what I can remember off the top of my head.

I don’t want to take a screenshot with the xbox DVR, I want to take one in game like we’ve been able to since 2007. Some pictures I want for myself, and not everyone in the world to see.
Is there an archive with old halo 5 films? I didn’t bookmark this film from 2/11 and my recent films only go back to 3/2
Thats good
I still haven’t figured out how to make clips with theatre that I can save and upload to one drive

This is the most un-user friendly feature I have ever seen, it took me literally 2 days, of searches to finally figure it out.
To get a 30 second clip - Doubletap the xbox button
To get up to a 5 minute clip you have to use the upload app. (i think that is what it’s called or clip editor or something it is in the xbox app store) The app will allow you to edit your clip, and upload to your stream, or to one drive.
