It sounds like it’s been made official. No theater mode for SOPS or Campaign. Disappointing!!!

In all my time playing Halo, I’ve never used Theater in Campaign.
Nor do I want to do so for Spartan Ops.
I honestly don’t see the big deal.
The only good reason to use Theater in either is for Easter Eggs.

Yeah, that stinks. I used theater almost entirely for Campaign and Firefight in the previous games (except Halo 3, which was about 60/40 for Campaign/MP theater).
On the bright side, Halo 5 will most likely be complete (full theater support, improved Forge, functional file sharing, in-game rankings for competitive players, etc) on launch. There’s been more than enough constructive feedback.

It makes sense that someone who never uses theater mode doesn’t see what the big deal is. But there are a lot of people that do use it for campaign and would love to have it for SOps.

Whether you used it or not does not change that there was literally no reason why they needed to remove such a feature, among many others.
It’s a prime example of 343i’s 1-step forward, 3-steps back mantra.
I tend to be an optimist…so let’s put it this way.
They CURRENTLY don’t have any plans to have theater in SpOps or Campaign…but that doesn’t mean they can’t MAKE plans.
I’m not big on theater in Campaign, and I haven’t really touched SpOps (waiting til I am SR 130 so I actually earn my xp) but I can see why people would want it.
The problem is the 360 is too old to handle rendering all that stuff with the lighting and all that. Same reason why weapons despawn so quickly.
If nothing else, it will be in Halo 5…and it will be GORGEOUS.
They currently don’t have plans?
Well you know what to do right? Make them have plans! (Just talk about it a lot a lot and a lot)

WOW! Have you never wanted a really cool double kill or air assassination you did in campaign or SOPS saved as clip or screen shot?
I used to save ALL assassinations in FF on Elites or Brutes because it was kinda difficult.
this is not a personal SHOT at all, but you may want to go back to REACH and just try it. At least for me I view it as a PERSONAL achievement.
But, to each his own I guess
Honestly 343 I don’t care if you have to release Halo 5 a month later, put it on hold,
AND FINISH THE GAME YOU’VE SOLD TO US
I hate it that I cant record some of the awsome stunts I pull off in SOps (such as dropping down and doing a mid-air assassination on a Promethian Knight on my first play through of an episode). I mostly play SOps (since my classes prevent me from playing much) and its really annoying
Dang, that news really hurts.
Seriously, no Theater for Campaign and Spartan Ops was the most disappointing thing about Halo 4 for me. The fact that they don’t have plans to implement it is really disappointing.
Halo 4 is such a beautiful-looking game. . . Shame we can’t observe most of it in Theater.
She says “sorry to be the bearer of bad news”. Uhm… what? It’s like they knew it was a bad idea yet they still made it that way. Makes no sense…

-Yoink- Halo 4 am I right or am I right?

I’m not so sure that’s it.
To provide Co-Op Theater files, the game would need to log the status of map scripts, triggers, cutscene status, and possibly also information on the AI’s behavioral state. It’s possible that these systems underwent changes that made it difficult or impossible to log this information in Theater.

Then with so many other broken things in this game, I would have rather them delay the release of the game and find a way to fix it, then release it before it’s even finished. File Share is a perfect example.
The fans would have understood.

No, that’s PR-speak for “it’s never happening.”

You really have no idea how it works do you?
Such world-state information is only relevant if you resume a session from a checkpoint. And guess what? Since they have working checkpoints, that stuff obviously works!
Films in Halo are created by re-playing out the recorded input data from a player’s controller in the game again - from the same start conditions.
All they had to do was NOT break it from Halo: Reach - it worked perfectly fine there. And they did so anyway.
What a shame. It would have been nice to have saved my watcher assassination.

Thats easier said then done. If Halo 4 wasn’t given enough time or its features enough consideration, what should make me think that Halo 5 will be given enough time. Even with all the information and feedback they have for Halo 4 only after 2-3 month, I’m not to confident that if and when the next Halo game comes out, that’ll it’ll actually be a complete game (not perfect, theres a huge difference between the two).
The game could have used alot more time in development. As much as I wanted Halo 4 to come out, I didn’t want what I have now.
