Today, during the live stream, we discovered that Theater mode was only 1 person per TV, and that it was only available for War Games and Custom Games. Campaign and Spartan Ops? Nope.
But I say, “Why stop there?” What is the purpose of Theater mode? Saving films, right?
Those films are usually incredible feats of skill, luck, or all of the above. These are often sent to opposing players, bragging about how much better the sender is than them.
Theater promote bragging about skill, it promotes staging clips for montage purposes (a form of boosting in montages), and people on Youtube have been making money by showing their films.
This shouldn’t be tolerated. Remove Theater, or you’ll have players with hurt feelings, Youtubers making money off your product, and montages that contain fake clips.

Not able to watch with friends kinda does make Theater pointless.

By that logic we should remove multiplayer because I other players hurting each others feelings by winning. An we should make the AI a bunch of gum drops that die by having them on your screen /sarcasm
But seriously it’s dumb how they got rid of some features but it’s better than no theater IMO
Not just anyone can make make money off Halo 4 after Microsoft’s copyright update. Only those partnered with big-shot gaming channels like Machinima, IGN, Gamespot etc…
But Halo 4’s Theater? It sucks. Should’ve improved from Halo 3’s. It’s probably the worse Theater ever IMO. Funny how it’s only gotten worse since its first debut.
The thing I’m most concerned about is no Theater for Campaign and Spartan Ops. This is quite possibly the most disappointing thing about Halo 4 for me.

Sure just make Red vs Blue a pain in the -Yoink- by removing theatre. Or anyother machinima for that matter. Because that won’t cause any issues within the fan base.

You know Timber, from what I’ve witnessed you seem to be one of the most negative people on this forum…constantly complaining about everything…
Through out your rant did you ever consider thinking about the machinima community? And what amazing things they accomplished with the Reach Theater?? I even saw some awesome montages with Reach’s theater as well. Your reason for removing it is illogical.
Yet for some reason through your rambling, I picked up the feeling that you are some how trying to pathetically connect this with the lack of a visible ranking system.

Anyways, the logic has been refuted…which is why it’s so comical. 343i’s logic is absolutely terrible, and it’s been refuted so many times by all these troll threads.
Actually theater is not about bragging or skill, it is for sharing cool things and creating machinimas. Some YouTube freaks think they are 1337 but that comes with every game.
FFS guys, drop it! It’s a joke! If you weren’t here last night, you probably won’t understand where I’m coming from. I was having fun with some other forum goers last night.

I’ve created over 100 Halo videos with over 1,000,000 total views on my YouTube channel using Theater Mode, and not once have I ever wanted to use it with friends.
Why is it that when someone doesn’t like something, they completely overexaggerate the situation? Remove it entirely? It’s still plenty useful the way it is. I’ve used it with friends maybe three times total. It’s mainly just good for recording gameplay to put online etc. much easier.
We should also get rid of all the weapons because that promotes everyone to kill other people. People go to jail for doing things they learn from video games, like poppin’ everyone’s heads off like grunts.
