Watching game films/clips in Halo 3 was a staple of enjoyment for my friends and I. When the game was over, if something funny or awesome happened, we could all seamlessly watch the video concurrently from the same lobby.
However, for a reason that was never fully explained (other than remarks about network issues or not being a priority), that “feature” was removed from Reach. It then became a chore to watch game replays/clips with your friends. You would now have to delete a file from your share first, then upload it. Then you would have to get all your friends to download it, invite them all to a party, then start it, with constantly having to check the game time to make sure we were all at the same part.
All in all, I really hope that Halo 4’s theater mode retains full functionality like that of Halo 3, as the removal of multiplayer viewing was an utter disappointment.
I’m not sure if this forum is the correct platform to voice my opinions on this subject, but I think it would be great if we let 343 know that a significant portion of the community wants to be able to watch films in lobbies with their friends.
yes halo 3 was great 4 theater and reach screwed it up but i hope they bring back the halo 3 theater in h4
Does anyone know why Bungie randomly removed this feature in Reach?
i think they didnt have time to finish it off

I hope this is true, and didn’t leave it out because it was using up too much memory.

Considering it was borderline broken in Halo 3 and required minutes to load a seconds long clip with a full party, why bother?
just like they left out things in previous games cuz they didnt have time to make an interface for it like ff in halo 3

Teams of four would often watch their gameplay to create strategies and such.
It was a pretty neat feature in Halo 3. I wish it would return for Halo 4.

I doubt it, if the game can run matchmaking with 16 people it shouldn’t have trouble running 2 players in theatre.
