Theater mode is broken, can't watch bookmarked films, let alone save some matches?

I bookmark films and they don’t save to my Theater for viewing. Sometimes they save, then I close the game down and start it again and they’re unwatchable. Why does this happen? I can’t review any of my LSS victories and only some of the LSS games I play even populate in my RECENT MATCHES within Theater. How is this still broken ?

Afaik they haven’t even fixed the stutter when viewing from first-person or the fact that it constantly plays the wrong person’s announcer stuff when spectating a certain player. Theater mode never seemed like a priority to 343, it was not as good in Halo 4 as it was in either 3 or Reach. Now I come back after all these years to find it even WORSE.

Still having this issue as well. Played a few games last night and bookmarked 2 of them to grab clips from later. The 2 bookmarks are basically the only games I CANT watch. Going through match history I can watch pretty much all of my games, even matches that are OLDER than the one I bookmarked. Makes no sense, it’s like bookmarking does the complete opposite of what it is supposed to do.

Really hope this gets fixed and I can see those clips, I will probably never be able to recreate them. Really disappointed I can’t capture them :frowning:

I can’t view any game in theater. Not sure when that got broke exactly as I know I watched some back in early March roughly.

Ever since the season 2 update I can’t watch anything new in the theater. I can watch old matches, but bookmarks, and any current match is unwatchable. Doesn’t even pop the button up.

I can’t even bookmark matches… Just says “saving bookmark…” and then “Bookmark not saved. Try again”
Infuriating.
Thank god Xbox has a replay capture system nowadays, but these kinda bugs just make 343 look bad. These basic features are decades old, and the QC back then–well, existed.

There’s a lot of things wrong with Theater:

  1. Sometimes recent matches aren’t viewable or just the first minute.
  2. Recording doesn’t start from your perspective, making me always search for mine.
  3. Often, when you do find and watch through your perspective, it’ll constantly switch you to another person’s perspective, forcing you to find yourself again.
  4. Sometimes when watching BTB Matches it just doesn’t let you watch through your perspective.
  5. You hear multiple people’s Personal AI.
  6. You may witness your character do things that another character is doing, like the Brute Chopper having AR crosshairs and firing like an AR (very rare, but it happened).
  7. Bookmark a match if you want, only a matter of time before you can never watcb it again.

Just at the top of my head. I need to suck it up and play more on PC at some point since the NVIDIA overlay lets me press a button and instantly record the last number of minutes no problem.

What console is everyone having issues with? I’ve been playing since release and have never had an issue viewing my matches in theater UNLESS a player in that match has strict privacy settings preventing anyone from watching the footage. See here:

I play on Xbox series X and PC. Again, never had any issues watching films.
I do have the multiple announcer and multiple ai bug, desync issue caused from sever vs client side misses, but that’s it. I have watched probably 30-40 films as I do a lot of filming and photography for the group I play with.

This is pretty ridiculous that this issue still persists and is basically being ignored.
