How would you guys feel/react if 343I came out and said this regarding Halo 5: “Due to our focus on a competitive online experience we have decided not to include custom games for the time being in order to perfect the Warzone and Arena experience. We also decided that a dedicated Theater mode is no longer needed since you can use your Xbox one DVR to record gameplay clips.”
Um… They confirmed custom games and theater mode.

That won’t happen. They’ve already revealed theater in its live form, called Spectator mode, and if they can do it live they certainly will be able to do it pre-recorded. As for customs, they’ve already said that you can remove spartan abilities in customs, confirming it’s existence.
I dunno cause its never going to happen

They also confirmed 2 player splitscreen coop at one point… We all know how that went unfortunately. Other things 343 has “confirmed”: The MCC will be on dedicated servers, Halo 5 will run at full 1080p 60FPS also on dedicated servers (note how they promised 1080p, and if people are looking for the source of that info watch the first prerendered Halo 5 multiplayer teaser trailer that is still playing as an advertisement in many Best Buy’s)
To actually answer your hypothetical, this would be ridiculous. Customs and theater are vital components to the competitive nature of Halo. The ability to practice in a controlled environment and the ability to review games from an omniscient third person perspective are vital tools for seriously competitive players.

Thank you for reading, thinking and answering my question. Also I agree with your analysis.
