We know by now that there will be a few first person scenes in the campaign. Like punching an Elite in the first mission, getting tackled by a Knight, prying open a door, etc.
I was just wondering, what will this look like in theater? It would look pretty awesome if they aced the animations, am I right?
This is all assuming that those animations aren’t treated as cutscenes and pull us out of theater during them. That would be dumb, if you ask me.
I really do hope theater is advanced alot so we can make our videos professional. It would also be cool if you had a whole video editor to work with and you could render your films to waypoint. that would be the most ultimate theater.
> What I was wondering is how are we going to play co-op campaign with these animations? Will there even be co-op campaign?
There is Co-Op campaign.
You’ll probably have the same animation for each person. Or only one character gets the animation. It would be weird with the door animation… two doors? Two Elites get punched? I think only one guy gets the animation. It would make it look better in theater.

Co-Op campaign was confirmed. Chief clones, in case you were wondering.
I was asking the same thing when I saw the Promethean tackle at E3. That would look awesome from many different 3rd person angles. I hope it displays very fluently and clean like it’s just part of the game, the same way a melee or asssassination or hijack looks in theater.

Yea it would look pretty sick. how often does chief get thrown around or tackled.
I think I see how this could work. One person triggers the animation and they all see the same first person animation. Like one person triggers the Promethean and they all see the scene of chief getting tackled. This could work.

Quite a few times, I’m guessing.
But it all gives a good “super-soldier” feeling. You aren’t invincible, but it gives a good impression when you retailate by punching your attacker or going into a fist-fight with it.
It makes you feel more Human too.
From the work we’ve seen with the motion-capture 343i is using, I’m assuming those animations will look quite good in theater.
I’m guessing only one player gets the animation in Co-Op, because, IMO, it would look silly to watch two Knights simultaneously leap and tackle 2 Chiefs, or two Elites tackle them and get punched and thrown simultaneously. How would they do the door scene?
