This is a thought that just popped into my head and would probably need some developing in order to be a decent feature if it’s even possible.
How would you guys feel about a feature in Theater that notifies you when someone creates a clip with you in it?
well first good luck in coming up with the technology to do something like that, their are likely millions upon millions of different players to sift through and presumably some will look almost exactly like you and be indistinguishable, so good luck with that.
the other part of this is exactly what would be the purpose? I mean its not like your Spartan has a right to privacy or anything so I just want to hear what the practical applications of something like this would be exactly.
To address the first part, it wouldn’t recognize you based on your appearance, but through your gamertag. If you’re in the game that the clip is being taken in, your gamertag will be recognized.
As for the second part, I guess I didn’t really think this through much. It started with the thought of “I wonder if there are any clips out there that I’m in” but I guess its use doesn’t go far beyond that, just a cool little thing that lets you see what you were up to during someone’s clip.

The infamous PC shooter TF2 has a similar system for when you appear in someone’s screenshot. It is entirely possible.
What I want is the ability to lock the camera’s height and side-to-side motions so we can get better tracking shots without having to constantly tap the bumpers to keep the height of the camera where it is.

Well, the Halo online fileshare has an identifier (not a notification function). I think this idea is nice and possible.
I can already imagine hate messages. “You t-bagged me!” or “I hate you for that!”.
I don’t know if anybody remembers this, but Reach had a freaking “Screenshots Of You” section in the file browsing area. Kind of amazed nobody has brought this up.

Why do you say “infamous”?
Not really sure I like the sound of that. Would you really want to know if some stranger made a film with your character in it? For the most part, I don’t think it’s something you would really care about unless it’s a rare instance in which a big-named player includes it in a montage or something. You’re more likely to get linked to irrelevant stuff of little importance.
I’m not going to care about a video a 12 year old boy created of him teabagging my character.
This wouldn’t work. Just because you are in a clip someone made doesn’t necessarily mean you are the STAR of it at all.
It wouldn’t be that hard to implement, there are already systems out there that do that. Freaking Reach had one and someone else listed another game (TF2 I think) that does it, so it’s no big deal. I think it would be cool to have just to have, but it isn’t something I would need to have. It would be abused in many ways, I can already see that now, but everything is abused in one way or another in every Halo game already anyways, so who cares.
