How is a Theater from Xbox One generation Halo worse than Halo 3’s, which was the first of its kind?
I messed around with Theater, capturing a few clips, for about an hour the other day. In that short time, here are some of the bugs I noticed.
- If you hide all menus from the screen (i.e. the menu that shows button instructions, and the menu that shows pause, rewind, etc.), you can fast forward and pause, but not resume/play.
- When you leave a Theater film, I am sent to the Campaign screen where I am prompted to select a difficulty. When I back out of this menu, to the main menu, and choose another option (such as Arena, Warzone, or back to Theater), I immediately get kicked back to the start menu.
- When I try to bookmark a film, it takes several seconds, if not minutes, for it to appear in the list of bookmarked films.
- Each time I enter the Theater menu, it has to re-load all of the bookmarked films, Why isn’t the first time enough?
- Occasionally, when my character dies, the screen switches to another character and follows them around. This makes recording playbacks of gameplay very difficult, as suddenly you are recording someone else’s footage.
- When I start the film, it occasionally starts me off viewing a different character than my own.
- Not a bug, just an issue: Why can’t we save, edit, and clip films? This severely limits the creativity of the community for machnima, montages, and even simple clip uploads to YouTube.
- Occasionally, the reload animation in my gun will not show. The gun will make a motion, similar to that when you idle for several minutes and your character seems to examine the gun, and the ammo is filled back, but no actual reload animation occurs.
