If you are bad enough to be spawn trapped, it’s unlikely you are going to win duels against them.
The people who grind my gears are the ones that grab the ball and run in a straight line towards the enemies point. This Rambo strategy has no place in griffball and all it does is gift the opposing team the ball!
Not a fan of Griffball. I would play it more if it didn’t keep a KDA and only tracked scoring or assists etc. Mostly not a fan because as you suggest it’s just spawn killing and as a beginner it’s hard to get a grip of the game.
Spawn, spin, and hammer. Or boost away right as you spawn. You should have enough time to do that. It’s not a bad strategy to go and disrupt guys spawning from getting in on the action. If you’re on Defense, go raise some hell at their spawn IF your teammates can kill the ball carrier. Had games earlier where they decided it would be more fun to team kill instead…
If you’re on offense and don’t have the ball, get the hell away from the guy with the ball. Spread out, try and kill the guys running to kill the ball carrier. You’re plowing the way to the goal. You lose games when you are too close to your other teammates. That’s how a lucky hammer from the enemy can get a triple kill or your teammate wacks you in the back of the head because he doesn’t understand how a hammer works.
This has been part of Grifball since forever. It happens. Boost or keep button mashing to kill.
That’s just part of Grifball, mate.
You wanna know what I have issues with? Getting banned because some idiot at the playlist team decided to leave betrayal booting and system banhammering on for Grifball.
You cannot expect people to not betray people in a game where you get two melee weapons and fight over a ball on a tiny map. That’s insane and asinine.

I get more annoyed by the people that grab it and run backwards no matter the situation. Sometimes Rambo is an effective scoring technique compared to running around waiting to be killed.
It’s also pretty difficult(not impossible) to break a spawn camp since you spawn with the sword out. I’d much rather have the hammer out. Then you’d have a better chance.
That it’s the problem of Grifball since Halo 3…
OP Griffball has always had spawn killing, if you cant break out of it on H5 wich is super easy then you should stop playing griffball instead of crying.
Yeah like everyone is saying this has been a part of Griffball since it was a gametype and that’s never going to change, one way I think to even the playing field would be to have players start with a gravity hammer, like in all the previous versions of Griffball
It’s why I don’t bother playing anymore. It was fun for a few days but that crap is miserable.

I’ve had this strategy work for me a few times. I am very agressive with the ball. I go for kills with it. It’s best to follow close behind me lol.
You actually have thrusters now to get away easy. It happens sometimes, I make it a sport to get them back and have some extra fun. Hammerslayer it is! I actually never really care for the win in grifball.
Btw Reach was way worse than this. You could actually control the spawnpoints with the bomb and hit them in the back. Over and over.
