The worst weapon in every Halo game

I’m curious to know if everyone’s opinion on the worst weapon in every Halo game is fairly consistent, or diverse and experience based. So I’ll list mine, and everyone list yours and let’s see where people agree and disagree.

CE & 2: Needler.
In both these games the Needler is basically an unusable meme. CE’s projectiles have alright tracking strength but move so slowly it doesn’t matter. And Halo 2’s have extremely weak tracking to make up for the fact you can dual wield them, and they have NO synnergy with other dual wield weapons so you can only even be tempted to use them if you have two at the same time. Sure they are both solid in Campaign. But utterly useless in Multiplayer.

3 & Reach: Spiker.
In Halo 3 the Needler got buffed to actually be useable, so now that every weapon could be used effectively, it’s the Spiker that fails the most. At least in Halo 3 it’s TTK was pretty consistent with other dual wield autos. It’s just the combination of slow projectiles, bullet drop, and no niche outside of dual wield that holds them back. At least the SMG did way more health damage than an AR and the PR was an excellent pocket tool for melee combat. But in Reach the Spiker has the slowest TTK any weapon without an alternative function has ever had in a Halo game. It’s painful, and barely (if at all) appeared in MM because of it.

4 & 5: Suppressor.
The Suppressor in H4 more or less took the place of the Spiker in the sandbox. Except it played more like a much weaker CE AR with painfully slow projectiles. I’d be shocked if anyone ever scored a positive K/D game with this in their loadout without heavily leaning on their sidearm of choice. And in H5 it was completely reworked into an extremely consistent tracking weapon with a long TTK. Kind of a dad weapon. But it was instantly outclassed by the Boltshot that did the exact same thing better. And H5’s otherwise strong sandbox left the Suppressor as the worst weapon in that game. Although despite that, it’s probably the most viable worst weapon in any Halo game so far.

Infinite: Disruptor.
If we were talking on-release I’d probably lean more towards the Pulse Carbine or Plasma Pistol, but as it stands now? I think it’s the Disruptor. And that opinion is subject to change with future balance patches. This is the one point I expect a lot of people to actually disagree with me on because the Disruptor has fans. Heck I often trade my AR for it just because I like the feel of it more and dropping my AR is heavily ingrained in my bones after nearly 20 years of playing Halo. But Infinite even more than Halo 5, is definitely a game where every weapon is a viable option for one purpose or another, so despite the disruptor ‘not being that bad’ I still think it’s the worst in the game as it only has two real niche advantages, AOE damage on objectives and grouped up players which is too rare an occurrence to be worth considering, and vehicle stunning which it is the worst of 3 options to use it for, and plenty of weapons outright destroy vehicles anyway.

The disruptor is powerful in the right hands. Combined with a BR or any other heavy hitting kinetic weapon the disruptor shreds. I think the worst weapon is actually the plasma pistol. Noob combos are almost impossible now and the EMP effect is nonexistent. For Halo 4 and 5 I have to agree with you that the suppressor sucked. Though yes the idea of a weapon that shoots faster over time is good on paper overall it was bad in gameplay and I never used unless I got it in fiesta for the 1000th time. I do agree that in 3 the spiker sucked but in reach I think the worst weapon was probably the plasma cannon. I know that may be a little controversial but using a plasma grenade was much more reliable and the charge time was ridiculous. In 2 it is probably a tie between the pistol and needler because the pistol in 2 was by far the worst out of all the Halo’s. And like you said the needler didn’t have all the necessary buffs yet. In Halo 1 it was probably the needler all the way because this had the worst variation with little to none tracking and very little super combine effects. Overall I mostly agree with your list but the disruptor is way better than you think.

I do admit the Pulse Carbine, especially now that it’s been buffed, along with the Ravager leave the Plasma Pistol in a tricky spot. But more often than not a Sidekick or AR do the same to the Disruptor, and those are spawn weapons.
