The Worst Warzone Issue Ever. Of all time.

Warzone. Oh warzone. Why are you so bloody awesome? You really are too much fun. And you don’t have any issues!

Oh, wait. You do.

Half the time I try to play, you make me join an in progress game. Quite a bit of the time on the losing team. Are you stupid? No. 343 is.

Warzone is one of my favorite game modes, but joining an in progress match isn’t fair. It gives you no chance to play well unless you spawn on a winning team, and normally you join the team that’s 200 point down. Want warzone to be great? Change the joining mechanics

Please none of the “Reqs suck” Stuff, we’re here to discuss joining mechanics, not Reqs

When that happens, just don’t worry about winning. Just get as many kills as you can and focus on whatever commendations you haven’t completed. You’ll enjoy it more that way.

See, if people join the winning team, they have no issues with jip, but once you join a losing team then it’s best to get all mad about it.

It is fair, what’s fair about not replenishing the numbers of a team if they were down 6v12? It’s also a social game as well, nothing’s on the line anyways. They brought back jip for a reason, they also kept it out of ranked games for a reason.

I’ve seen games where when we take the enemy armory on ARC, half of the enemy players leave the game probably because they think they’re going to get farmed even though no teams do that anymore. After that the game refills the enemy team and we triple cap and core, leaving 6 players with an loss just because JIP screwed them over.

My problem is that the game doesn’t even think twice about putting me in a match in progress, but if my teammates start dropping out, JIP doesn’t do -Yoink- and those spots stay empty for the rest of the match.

You guys now that you get Req Points for winning and losing and frankly no one cares how much you win/lose in unranked playlist.

Why do you think JIP isn’t in Slayer, Breakout, and Swat?

My apologies, but I really did laugh-out-loud when I read that!

Yes, there has been a significant decrease in Warzone Farming in recent months, probably caused by a combination of the successful completion of Achilles commendations as well as the offending Spartan Companies receiving an inordinate amount of (well-deserved) grief from the Halo community. But to say that “no teams do that anymore” is overly optimistic, to say the least!

I have all the good players on my friends list, and none of them farm. If you’re still meeting farmers chances are they’re terrible players, as I have searched out a farming team playing solo and got almost 40 kills on them. Yet players like me that only quick core are still having our reputations manipulated by players that still think Achilles farming is an issue.

It’s also a lot more rare to join a winning team so of course people are going to like when that happens. I actually do have issues with joining any winning or losing game in progress because my REQ boosts don’t count.

It is fair for the game to try and even out the teams, but the problem is JIP isn’t being properly implemented. The game should have a cut off point to prevent people joining certain games which it obviously doesn’t at the moment. People join games where it’s clear there’s no chance of coming back to win like when it’s 100-700 and you’re not only losing, but you’re also getting farmed. Then you have games where you join and there is only 30 seconds left, or even worse, the game ends before you can even spawn in and it gives you a loss.

FYI, you’re responding to one of the biggest advocates for abusing the report system on XBL.

JIP needs to be addressed but the biggest problem with JIP is all the people quitting. It’s a casual game mode and people understand IRL stuff comes up, but as someone else mentioned it’s become a flood of players quitting matches for just about any reason. Cap an armory? 3 enemy players gone. Enemy catches back up at 600 points? Goodbye multiple teammates. My last match alone had 9 players quit in 13 mins.

I play Warzone by myself 70% of the time (or thereabouts), so I’m used to the whole JIP thing. I don’t care about losing these matches since I know I have zero control over who I get matched with and against whilst going in solo. Instead, I just try to not have a bad game and try to slay as often as I can or not die a lot. Nowadays, I expect the game to screw me over with JIP about half the Warzone games I play. That’s just my expectation, which is very unfortunate.

I have no issue joining a game that’s 150-200 (or even a bit higher) and being on the losing team and having one base. But, the 700-150 games are pure crap. Like, someone back at office thinks players on the losing team are having “fun” with this and that this is acceptable?

What you don’t realize is the number of people who are joined into your games that you would have lost without them… A LOT of people quit out of Warzone matches. Since it’s not ranked, it does not matter. Just build up your commendations.

JiP games don’t bother me that much to be honest. But, there needs to be a stiffer penalty for quitters. 343 needs to actually punish those who quit, not those of us that are looking for a game.

^ This. A system that doesn’t replace players would be 10 times worse. Eventually having a 12v4 hell where the 12 team wants to pound a wall because they can’t find enemies to kill and the team of 4 are epically PO’d because they have no shot and the opposition needs to just dump the core already.

Making the quit bans even more harsh than they already are isn’t going to solve the problem. It might actually make it worse considering all the unintentional quits that happen already with disconnects which could discourage people from even playing anymore. I don’t know what the real solution would be, but having more evenly balanced teams, solo players playing against teams only after a long period of searching, and getting rid of the win/loss stats would be a start.

That was funny wasn’t it.

This past Wednesday I would’ve been 3/3 for Firefight, but on the 3rd mission I was thrown into the end of the first round on Urban. We actually won all rounds thanks to NOT having the 3 Wardens in the back of the base. After the win victory I was sent to the mission overview screen but it had the loading circle for awhile. I had to back out to the Xbox One home screen then back to the game. I then noticed I didn’t get any REQ points or even the win at all! It didn’t show up in my profile on this website either.
I wasn’t even mad at that point. I was like “this -Yoink- is expected”. I stopped playing for the night though.

Meh, sometimes your put on the winning team and sometimes the losing. I feel it balances out in the end. Also it depends on the score but it can always turn around.

That is particularly amusing, coming from one of the more prominent insult-and-run authors on the Halo Waypoint forums. You always seem to mysteriously disappear whenever someone poses a compelling counter-point to one of your antagonistic comments, but I’m sure that is just a big coincidence.

Regardless, I have been particularly outspoken against people who abuse the reporting system. Competitors who report their opponents after the match has ended strictly because they are wearing Achilles armor are a classic example of that very unfortunate trend.

In contrast, when a team plays standard Warzone, executes a triple-cap within the first few minutes of the game, advances to the enemy’s home base and has multiple Spartans in their opponent’s core room without taking a single shot at the core itself for 15-18 minutes, that is blatantly poor sportsmanship and easily qualifies for the Unsporting Behavior report within Xbox Live.

Vnm1000Vpr, being one of the biggest Warzone farming apologists on the Waypoint forums doesn’t mean that it is not Unsporting Behavior.

You are definitely a great player, having achieved Champion #31 rank in Halo 5 FFA. As a result, telling us that you have encountered a farming team solo and got almost 40 kills doesn’t necessarily mean that your opponents were terrible players.

You have also played over 5000 Warzone matches, which gives you a very impressive amount of experience. Despite all of those notable credentials and your testimony that allegedly “I have all the good players on my friends list, and none of them farm,” that certainly doesn’t mean that “no teams do that anymore.” I really do wish that were true, but it isn’t.
