The worst update ever

My game just crashed two matches in a row. Again. Done with this until they actually start finishing the game.

I’m sorry, all this is more important that a mode that kicks/crashes/doesn’t load for 70% of players trying to connect?

All this is more important than cheaters being dealt with, crashes, latency and region problems, desync, bugs, glitches things that actually make this game worse? But you want amenities for a game that’s “dead”?

26k-41k players is a healthy population size, and that’s only on Steam.

False to the first, true to the second.

Not much service for a live service game at the moment.

Dropping and ranking malicious team problems are very easy to solve, there are other games ready-made solutions can be copied, the workload will not.
But they didn’t even mention it.
Couldn’t be more disappointed.

Dude be patient, they just came back from the holidays

So we’ve gone from it’s just a beta, to it just came out, to they’re on vacation, to they just got back from vacation. I mean, these may be valid reasons, and I’m not going to argue them. But it does make it feel like there’s going to be some new excuse in a few weeks. It doesn’t give me faith in the game. I hope things do improve, but we’ve been hearing excuses for almost two months now.

I was speaking about Halo as a whole.
Halo in itself.

This…soooooooooo this.

So you’re expecting, after they just returned, for EVERYTHING to be magically fixed…

Something’s dead, but it sure ain’t this game. Have some patience.

How much patience?
Like 2 years patience?
343 needs to get a grind system in place by the end of the week that rewards players a small amount of credits they dont have to buy.

@Mattchaq And its not like their first Halo. They should know what the fans want after H4, H5 and MCC.

Nope. I don’t agree. They had 5 years for this game, then a year delay and to still release like this.

“It’s just a beta” - remember the crowd that said that nonsense.
“There will be updated at release” - sure bud. What did we get. Notta, zip.

No, time isn’t needed. Patience isn’t needed.

What needs to happen is some film maker needs to make a documentary on what went wrong and politics and drama that lead to this mess. A good airing of some dirty laundry.

Exactly. I put in almost 200 hours into this game before finally uninstalling it from my computer. I’ll be playing the originals on my OG Xbox and Halo 3/Reach on the Xbone using BC. I’m not pleased with how they handled this game to the point I don’t even want to touch any of 343i’s products, including MCC.

More than a week. Especially for everything. Double at @Saint_Budden

These two are some of the most causal gamemodes. IMO they should never be made ranked again.

An update about your upcoming update, “temper expectations.” Aren’t you supposed to excite us? Not temper us? I think the way companies want to earn our dollar is truly night and say 2002 vs 2022.

Just wanted to add that I am crashing an overwhelming amount on my new Xbox Series X after this last update. I can play all other games on it but Halo is a total dice roll. I’ve lost too many ranks to count, and none of my friends will touch the game anymore given the market is saturated with high quality games that don’t crash 50% of the time.

Also to anyone defending the issues, there is no sympathy if 343 continues to monetize the game in this broken state. If 343 is selling cat ears for $20, at the very least we should expect to have a stable game to work with. Given that this is not the case, as there are dozens of threads about performance issues, we have every right to complain because we put money into a product that is obviously unstable and unfinished.

20x the amount is the understatement of the century, it’s got like 20000x the amount of content

I feel like fixing a core element of the game that effects gameplay directly is a pretty high priority. The 3 week “ghosting.” Was because the devs went on their holiday vacation. They are, after all, human beings with families and personal lives and Halo is, after all, a piece of interactive software,

I think toggling cross play would be a very fine addition, but I’ve never really had an issue with it. I know KB+M is at a slight statistical disadvantage, but there certainly are what I would consider bigger issues.

Ranked slayer is in the ranked playlist, as for the others I think they would make a fine addition, but from previous indications it seems like they haven’t quite worked out the best deployment method for setting up more playlists yet. I’d like to see a match composer, like MCC, before they segment more of the player base.

Maps take time to create, balance, debug, etc. The bigger the map, the longer it takes to put it out the door.

I’ve seen someone on the forums recently put the player count on Steam alone at 12k. That’s only Steam. There are two other platforms for Infinite on which people are playing the game, such as Game Pass PC and the Xbox consoles. People naturally drop off from a game after the release hype dies down. I don’t think it’s quite as doom and gloom as some people may think.

If you are launching a F2P game that you are saying has a 10 year plan/cycle on it then it should LAUNCH with a roadmap. Because they didn’t, it shows they have no clue what they were meant to do post launch. They had no plan.
