Yeh the radar is awful and it’s also annoying that it was removed from ranked.
Thats fake news mate.
MLG or other pro halo leagues haven’t had radar for decades.
The flight had a different version which after outcry from the community (not the pros) was changed to what we have today.
As for the mangler they (the pros) want the spawn rate nerfed, not the actual gun itself.
For me the radar makes camping harder, gives a good range for vehicles and forces me to use my eyes more. I’m fine with it.
Not in casual, most people are sprinting plenty. Either way the stealth portion of the game is mostly if you are crouching or have active camo
Not the biggest but part of it all. I just came to ignore it, it just pings people when they are already on top of you, or don’t show them at all at times, and at that point might as well just remove it. I personally have more issue with the clunky aiming, and horribad pc performance
Wow, lots of people are talking about a major issue that affects 99% of the playerbase?!?!?!
I doubt they put much thought into it. the radar originally only spotted sprinting people in the flights. People didnt like it. Heres the very simple reason the radar is the way it is. They wanted to slowly get rid of it. someone either doesnt like it or was scared of what it did to halo 5.
Agreed; I think between the boring, inside-the-box map design, minimal number of maps, and the terrible radar, this game is just the same thing, every match. Nothing interesting happens; nothing new can be done. It’s obnoxiously linear, and radar is one of the biggest factors.
The lack of viable radar also caters very strongly to players who can hear audio cues, because they have good ears, quiet homes, and/or nice headsets. Not fair at all.
@343 this would be such an easy change, just make the radar 25m again, please!
Eh I doubt that. They’ll probably add those guns eventually anyway; this game is just minimalistic because they didn’t bother to add any more than the bare necessities, that’s why there’s so few weapons. They have very few maps and game modes too. I expect it’s because they were trying unsuccessfully to determine what to prioritize to make the most money with the game, rather than what would make the game good.
Definitely!!
Collision is a must!
Extremely well said there! Couldn’t have said it better myself. You’re damn right they released the bare minimum just to sit back and see what people want and what not. Sad reality is that is what a Beta/Flight testing should be while the game releases complete! Mark my words both Co-Op and Forge will be delayed even more and I have a strong feeling Forge won’t even release until the Holiday season or next year! On topic though the radar is a huge problem and they had complaints in the flights and after increasing it we are still here because they couldn’t get it right, still!
You guys that need a larger radar for some reason are probably the same people you see on the highway that don’t notice their lane ends until they’re 6 inches away from the road closed sign
I agree, the radar is borderline worthless. The only time it is useful is when you are camping around sharp corners near lanes you feel the enemies will likely traverse, usually when your team has map control or you are covering your teammate’s butts.
It does almost nothing to give you general information about enemy positions, and is frankly dangerous to look at in those situations taking your eyes off the game.
All in all, the radar has a way of creating this weird gameplay where your are just looking to stay safe and flank or team shoot mostly, and when there are no good options for that are just wall hugging and corner camping in a way get some use from the radar, and because more than any other Halo game, infinite is a game that rewards ambushes- that AR rips people to shreds and there is such little chance of any meaningful counterplay when you get bushwhacked.
You seriously don’t see the point you’re unintentionally making? You’re hilarious
Nope, we need larger radar because the melee encounters are both broken and annoying. On top of that I am constantly finding myself not knowing enemies are near me. Ohhh I almost forgot… the sound for footsteps, shots fired, explosions, etc… are random with how they work and the positioning of them. Also, I’m no construction expert but I’m pretty sure the current radar doesn’t go a solid 18 meters. I know how long a meter is and there’s PLENTY of instances where I know for a fact the enemy was within 18 meters and still not on my SMALL NON CHANGABLE IN SIZE radar. But please… continue, by all means.
?? Why are you brining up ranked and SWAT? When you’re in ranked or SWAT, you’re supposed to play with a completely different style than you would when you have a radar. Trying to compare then on the basis of a radar makes absolutely no sense. If the game is going to give you a radar, they have to make it viable or else fools like you will go around asserting that it shouldn’t be used as if you’re playing ranked or SWAT.
Yes, they are.
And you know what?
There are many other issues
The problem is, those issues get lost and there is no progression, because the forum gets flooded with new threads. Everyone thinks his or her opinion is so new and important, instead of joining forces and stick to one major post.
But if you truly think this is the most effective way, I invite everyone who left a comment over here to create a new post, as well.
Sounds like you get outplayed a lot. While you’re at it why don’t you ask for our AIs to be armed with guns and automatically shoot enemies that get the drop on us because we don’t know how to look around or listen to our teammates? And maybe an automated system that immediately dispatches an UberEats to deliver a free cookie to you whenever you’re able to kill someone?
Fanboy alert
“probably, most people, most likely, probably”
Great arguments!
