The WORST part of Infinite is the RADAR range. By far

The Radar Range is absolutely ABYSMAL COMPARED to previous Halo’s.

The LEAST they could do is add equipment that extends radar range. Halo 4 had it PERFECT with the Radar modifications such as being able to see your radar while zoomed. Now, even if you’re lucky enough to see an enemy on radar, you have about half a second to react and turn around if even that.

How did this game even make it through Quality assurance without being addressed. Imagine making a modern triple A game that is worse than your first try back in 2012.

Halo 4 multiplayer was actually FUN to play. The sniping was amazing. The Spartan abilities like radar mods and extra ammo was neat, the warthogs didnt feel floaty like Infinite and the vehicle spawns were solid ( unlike this Pelican randomly dropping off vehicles which is horrible )

Halo Infinite feels like a chore to play instead of a fun game to relax with.

I’m probably going back to playing the MCC cause at least it has good maps a

It’s such an easy fix and 343 are just ignoring it.

Theory is they want the Radar nerfed to encourage you to run, and gun like COD, and get easy back taps. Since by the time you see someone on Radar they are already right behind you especially with movement speed being faster in this.

I wouldn’t say it’s the worst thing though. I actually hate the overdone enemy highlighting even worse. The enemy briefly glowing red, and a red name appearing over them when you aim at them would have been enough. They don’t need to be glowing red blobs always visible from the other side of the map.

GUESS WHAT. There wouldn’t be any more posts about it if they would fix it already. it’s not like it’'s a handful of people complaining about it. It’s an almost game breaking flaw that none of the previously games had and it needs to be fixed.

The worst part of Infinite is the lack of collision.

I think they shortened the radar to put the stealth playstyle on life support. In Halo 4 you could spawn with the armor ability active camo which was the essence of that playstyle, but ever since loadouts were taken out back stealth has been dead.

I do like having a bigger radar, but if to get that it’s at the cost of also taking the stealth play style out back for good then it’s not worth it in my eyes.

Imo either loadouts return in some form, and radar gets boosted, or leave it as it is.

I’m going to tell you the exact same thing that Halo 4 kids told us when we started complaining about sprint or about armor abilities or any of the CoD stuff…

ADAPT.

get gud.

and if you don’t like it go back to Halo 5 :smiling_imp:

IMO Halo 5’s was way worse than Infinite’s. Half the time you wouldn’t see anything in your radar and then you would see an unavoidable cruise missile flying at you in the form of Spartan Charge. So maddening.

Let me edit this so the Halo 5 fanboys that came out of the woodwork conveniently in the last few months won’t be up in your DM’s.

I had next to no online presence around the time Halo 4 was alive, so I never even got to see those discussions occur. I had heard of the community outcry calling it CoD, but that was about it.

Halo 4 was the the first Halo game I picked up, and the
cqc stealth playstyle is what I latched onto. There is no other multiplayer game where you can play like that. It’s all just the same old run of the mill shoot the other team. Sneaking into the enemy base, and going wild with the AR, or plasma pistol ambushing hostile vehicles to destroy them then vanishing to ready another ambush was where I got my joy from the game.

Halo 5 returning to the power up system, and abandoning armor abilities effectively was the fatal blow to the stealth playstyle, and on top of that the focus on catering exclusively to the E-sports sweats in regards to balance. Out of all of the multiplayers in the series by far Halo 5 was the worst imo.

No salt, or anything, but “adapt git gud” could apply to us both regarding the radar vs stealth playstyle issue.

Its the most useless thing in this game. The fact someone can WALK behind me without even showing up once is infuriating.

I enjoyed H5 as much as the next guy, but man, I am glad Spartan Charge is gone!

It was far worse than the outcry against Halo Infinite in my opinion. Imagine the forums now being like 5-10x more people, and imagine how disappointed that Halo 3/Reach fans were with it.

Edit: There were a lot more positive folks back then, but I do think the outrage/disappointment was far greater. That was the follow up to 3/Reach, not the follow up to 4/5 so it had far higher expectations I would argue.

See this is where you screwed up. Halo never had a stealth playstyle because camping around corners with a boltshot/camo wasn’t possible. If you want a game revolved around stealth there are tons of them that have done that over the years, Halo is not designed that way.

HAHAHHA Your “response” to “Adapt” or “get good” isn’t a solution, because there isnt a way to ADAPT to the fact that having a split milisecond to react to another player behind you isn’t realistic.

People like you are the very essence of toxicity and arrogance. Imagine telling people to “git gud”, when the problem isn’t their skill level, but a broken aspect of game balance.

maybe you should “get good” when it comes to understanding game design so you wouldnt Incorrectly attribute the issue to player skill rather than poor design.

get an education.

I still have no issue with utilizing the motion tracker in this game, and anyone that claims it’s useless is either ignorant or just plain terrible at the game because it’s far from useless.

The above screenshot I made showcases the precise range of the circle. It technically even exceeds it too, because the outer rim of the motion tracker will glow in the general direction where enemies are so it does actually exceed 18 meters to some extent.

I think people are too used to it just giving them the location of just about everything in their general location with little to no effort involved, and now that it’s reduced some they’re struggling to adjust to the requirements it intels. You’ve been coddled so long with how much easier the longer motion trackers make it for you in other words.

Hell, most shooters don’t even have a form of motion tracker or radar to make the game easier for them. You actually have to make smart decisions when entering unknown area’s unless you want to get out played constantly.

Boltshot is good and I do miss the original, but that was never really my thing back then. The AR and plasma pistol was my go to. Admittedly I am guilty of camping here and there by hiding near a loose flag making it look undefended, or in a pinch vanish when there’s multiple points of cover to lose a pursuer to later ambush after recovering. For the most part I was either on the move, or keeping an eye out for incoming vehicles I can get the jump on.

Ideally I’d like to spawn with active camo again, but that seems like such a long shot nowadays. Settling for a smaller radar to somewhat be able to play as I did before is good enough I suppose.

Got em :joy_cat:

I do appreciate your commitment to comedy though, respectable.

You are in the wrong franchise. You would be better off playing RPG’s/Ubisoft titles.

Halo is closer to football than it is to a stealth game.

If the radar range is your biggest issue with this game, you rely on staring at that thing way too much. How do you even play ranked or swat?

I’d like a radar that;

  1. Shows me everyone in my immediate area - moving or not - to help with CQC.

  2. Acts normally at mid-long range - only people moving and/or shooting.

  3. Has a little warning light at the edge of the radar to tell me when someone outside the radar range is moving towards me faster than running speed. That way I have a chance when someone is incoming fast (sprinting, grapple shot, vehicle).
