The Worf effect...please stop

1v1 a grunt hand to hand.

Yes but chief will not easily slap around atriox.

Back in the halk 2 days they were physically on par with them. Maybe 343 has changed it for some reason but sangheili were at somepoint just as good

In a story written by humans for humans with a human hero as a protagonist???

WTF is wrong with you? Why would the focus EVER be humanity in such a case during a human/alien war?? Gee I don’t know…

That’s the only thing I didn’t like about the opening cutscene. I don’t mind Chief losing to build an arc. He should have done way more damage to Atriox. They made him look weak and an idiot. It’s not like Spartan’s can fall from space, lift tanks, or punch straight through an elites skull or anything…

They never were in the books. They were on equal ground in MP because otherwise it would make no sense to pick an elite obviously

Because it is differnt, unique, and cool.

Yeah no thanks … go back to writing fan fiction and do not share the links please

“ With their enormous strength and quick reflexes,
Elites are physically superior to humans in
every respect; they are also cunning tacticians,
keen shots and clinically brutal in close-range
melee encounters. Their stylized battle armor is
very tough, and their entire bodies are covered
with energy shields that can regenerate in a short
period of time. It would not be wildly erroneous to
compare this race (and its capabilities) with the
SPARTAN-II super-soldiers - of which, the Master
Chief is the only known survivor.”

This is directly from the halo 2 offical guide made by bungie

Read

The

Books

And they descriptions of what even spartan 3 do the covenant hand to hand

That was written for halo CE it even mentions chief to be the only spartan 2 left which he never was

The best halo book i have read was Halo: the Broken Circle.

By far one of the best and didn’t have all kf this “Spartans need to absolutely Destroy everything” krap

And it was written for halo 2 like i said

Now this is just not true at all. While they might not be the absolute most physically imposing among all the species, Spartan’s durability is one of the most important part of what makes them super-soldiers. One of their augmentations was to just straight up ceramic-plate their bones to make them effectively unbreakable.
Spartans recover from injuries in a fraction of the time that a normal human ever could.
In Shadows of Reach Mijolnir Gen 3 is able to just shrug off 20+ times Earth’s gravity and the Spartans are able to just walk around like that. Between that both times we have seen Spartans survive Atriox’s Gravity Mace, Spartans are solidly able to survive levels of punishment that would turn even the strongest possible normal human being into Silly Putty.

In my mind spartans were already diminished when they became so prevalent with the spartan 4’s.
They’re still badass but they did have to lower standards give them less effective genetic modifications so they aren’t killing 90% of the people becoming spartans and stop kidnapping children to train them from birth. This just kinda results in a worse Spartan on an individual level but a higher over lethality as there are alot more spartans in general

When we look at the aliens it’s very believable that their forces would be able to take on a spartan. They’re more advanced technologically and they have many units who are more capable from a biological standpoint Elites kinda seem like they’re on the same level or maybe a tiny bit lower than a spartan but then we have Hunters, and Brutes are stronger and outnumber Spartans. Even Chief can’t really go hand to hand with a brute chieftain and I’m just talking about the general alien soldiers.

Someone like Atriox who is at the very top of what a brute is absolutely should be slapping spartans around because not only is he one of the smartest tactically but also the strongest physically. The only way to beat someone like that is superior tactics and strategy.

Atriox is always seen ambushing the spartans and forcing them to react to him which is the worst thing for a spartan because tactics is where they need to win the fight and that is diminished from the get go because they haven’t been able to plan for his ambush.

It was still wrong even back then.
Halo: First Strike was already out and established other Spartan 2 survivors after Reach.
The in universe first person accounts of struggles between Elites and Spartans are clearly going to be more concrete establishing lore than flavor text from a strategy guide.

Thank you.

Thisbis exactly how i feel.

these “spartan killers” are a joke especially jega who is an absolute coward of an elite, he didn’t overpower any of the spartans during the campaign he stabbed them all in the back

its definitely in Ghosts of Onyx

i’ve actually read ghosts of onyx but it was around 8 or 9 years ago i think, that’s the one with the shield world or something innit
