Does anyone know how the ranking for this -Yoink!- gaming Tournament works?
So far I can only see it being the sum of your scores per game played.
So basically, you can be garbage, get a better score than I because you have more kills (with twice as many deaths) lose us the game because of that and still be ranked higher?
So the winner will be someone:
Between the ages of 18 and 26
Who lives with his parents
Who is unemployed
Who isn’t even that great at Halo 4.
Because the only people with enough time to get scores like those are the people who play non-stop, poorly, with no job or responsibilities to keep them from playing.
What. A. Joke.
Winner will be a group of players sharing one account and playing nonstop
Exactly.
I should’ve figured this would be a load. There isn’t even trueskill in this game and the closest you can even go to trueskill here is by checking k/d against game types most often played.
The top players in tier 1 are a lower k/d than I am and aren’t even good.
I’m surprised no one made a -Yoink!- joke yet…
Video game nerds getting into fights about other video game nerds being more of a video game nerds is hilarious.
Let’s just sell half our servers and start a -Yoink- competition amongst our -Yoink!- players and gift the most privileged of them, one who has no responsibilities other than not peeing on the seat, a car.
also they will have a brand new ford raptor

Not so much being mad about who wins but how the competition is being organized. It’s basically he who plays the most wins.
That’s the first I’ve heard of any tourny doing it that way. It’s just boring.
OP is mad. Why you so mad bro?
The idea is to boost the online population. Not find the worlds greatest Halo 4 player, that’s what MLG is for.
although im registered for this tourny i have to admit the tourny is set up poorly.
I had registered but found myself playing skyrim instead.
Who honestly wants to be seen driving a ford anyway? lol A meh competition for a meh game.

Good point, it’d be nice if they gave people who don’t have MLG venues near them the chance to at least show their skill in a way that isn’t BS like what they’ve made.
It could have been a means for great players to show off their talent without fees or going to a comp.
how about the winner of the spartan ops contest. all you have to do is play the same dull (gets dull fast) mission over and over. you could get 1 kill and just hang out and let your team do all the work and you still get credit towards it.
the only people who will win this are those with no lives and just sit and play all day long non stop. only thing i would do with that truck is auction it off to buy a Dodge anyway lol. the raptor is garbage
So the ‘best’ player is simply the person who played that playlist the most, not based on skill at all?
Why doesn’t that surprise me :S
Halo 4 isn’t catered to casuals, not at all…
Gamesager is bumping between 2nd and 1st on WG. He’s legitimately better than most of “us.”

Which is true, but to attain the score he has (105,000), at a score of 300 per game (for arguments’ sake), he has had to have played around 350 games since Monday. At an estimate, let’s say his games average eight minutes a pop. That means he’s played 2800 minutes, or 47 hours so far. Over five days, that’s around nine hours a day.
Let’s assume he’s working a Monday-Friday, 9-5 job. To fit in nine hours each day, he’ll have had to play from 6pm-3am, using 3am-9am to eat/sleep/travel, and 5pm-6pm to do the same.
If he’s working, he is dedicated. Of course, this is speculation. He could be working a weekend job (hospitality for example), or be making money elsewhere (I’ve never heard his name associated with MLG or pro-competition, but it wouldn’t surprise me).
In any case; he is in a situation where nine hours a day of gaming doesn’t impact his own well-being financially (not even getting into the social aspect). Not all of us have that privilege.
tl;dr: Playing lots should not equal prizes. Skill and competitive accomplishment should. I’m sure plenty against the progressive rank system in place in Reach and H4 would agree.
