Its not just 343 the whole game industry on a whole is failing!!! 343 have made a simple game using mechanics used from other games because it is safe!!! It is fun, it will sell and the players will drop out after a few months but they don’t care they will have already started making Halo 6. Once again they will big up the hype train so it will sell good again. They do not care about a good “Halo” game, they just want to maximize the profit. And every game is doing this. Destiny was released with the DLC already on the disk and then people had to pay to unlock it. This maximizes the profit made without the cost of production, as it has already been made. More game companies will be doing stunts like this just to maximize profit. A new “Halo” game will not generate the same initial cost as a botched one with all these generic gimmicks, medals flashing for everything you do, faster kill times, making you feel badass.

Lol most of modern society is full of sheeps and complacency. I would say its not just this industry, but most industries today. How do you think we have the current political and economic problems not only as 1 country but western civilization and globalization. Cuz globalization was such a “good” idea, but whatever, that’s a discussion for another time/place.

This is why I moved to indie games a while ago. They show the innovation that had been lacking for many years in mainstream gaming.
Also game genres rise and fall. Strategy was very popular when I was a kid. Now its pretty much unheard of.
2015 will be the really coming out party for this new generation of consoles.
Here’s hoping we get some innovation and all these last gen type games fall away. Im pretty tired of all the watered down MW wannabe games.
Success is most often found based upon doing something generic with a twist, innovation for the sake of innovation tends to fail.
Everybody cries about wanting there things to change but hate change, and its something that is ingrained in human culture.
All I can say if that you don’t like halo 5 then don’t play it. If you love OG halo then you have the MCC which hopefully should be working soon, and I’m sure you could rent/borrow the game for the campaign if that so interests you. Whining like a baby over decisions that have clearly been made from the go such as sprint add nothing.
