I literally just got a weekly challenge to get 15 kills with gungoose. What a total joke, it is darn near impossible to find a gungoose, and when you do you are lucky to get 3 or 4 kills before getting shot out of it.
That is a bad joke, but gungoose seems to have a high spawn rate. I see it every BTB I play, I think.
curious, why everyone on here act like they are better than everyone else. lol.
big deal if you can grind and the op cannot. i have a feeling infinite is going to suffer. i never played it by judging the amount of topics of challenges. doensât sound like my style.
i played halo ce and halo 5 lol.
so halo 5 died for nothing, lol.
AH but thatâs the trick my friend. They want you to draw this awful challenges so youâll spend money on challenge swaps.
This challenge system was so obviously designed to try and get the player to spend money.
Downright predatory.
Iâm relatively inexperienced with halo multiplayer and had no problems completing all my challenges over the course of a couple evenings the last 2 weeks.
Maybe I just got lucky I guess.
I do agree that itâs dumb to not have any other way to get xp once your weeklys are complete. Ive just got to sit here and slow grind for a half week. Give xp for accolades or something.
Iâm in the same boat. I really donât like this approach to leveling up. I sometimes have great games, but since the weekly challenges are done, I only get 50XP. Getâs real boring
Doesnât help that you have to complete challenges to get challenges that are already set for you, and one slot is locked behind a $20 paywall. No reason I should be locked out of the Tenrai challenges until I complete the several other regular challenges. Bad enough over 2/3 of the cosmetics are locked behind a paywall, now they wonât even let you earn event gear until you complete challenges that have nothing to do with the event.
It makes me wonder how they came to think over half of what theyâve done to Infinite were good ideas. Iâve already said it in another post, but the anniversary/ WQ deluxe bundle on Destiny and anniversary upgrade pack on Skyrim are looking a lot better by comparison.
$60 for (if they bring back Forge) 1/5 of a game and $10-20 for access to cosmetics I have already grinded/ may grind. Imagine paying pre-order deluxe prices for a fraction of a game, and I thought Warframe was being expensive/ stingy with Prime Resurgence RNG and prices, especially compared to trade chat prices for that gear.
Or
$100 for new dungeons, raids, weapons, armor, new campaign, boosters, access to certain activities, and the next year of content already paid for.
Or
$20 for everything the Creation Club has to offer, which is roughly 5-6x more than what theyâre charging.
The only thing Infinite is getting from me is the $10 I paid for one of the armor kits so I wouldnât have to spend hundreds on boosters in H5 and another 20-30 some levels for black and red armor.
My problem is once i complete all the challenges for the week i feel no reason to continue playing.
YES the base game is fun A F but im not rewarded for how well i do, 50xp per match is a slap to the face when you just dropped 20+ kills and no deaths
and the weekly rewards feel kinda lacking, like cool i get a visor/shader that i can only use on one armor core. whoop de doo.
I miss being able to color my spartan whatever i want, and having armor cosmetics locked behind challenges. It gave me a reason to keep playing.
The whole XP system needs to be uprooted, cosmetics needs to be completely remodeled, 99% of the armor cosmetics needs to be locked behind challenges.
I would rather go back to having to buy the full game + multiplayer to get rid of the current rewards system and pay for everything mentality that 343 is pushing
I think challenges can work, but not as they are.
Right now, I face a choice:
Focus on the challenges, and maybe, maybe, get the mode I need, with the right confluence of events I need, to clear my last 2 challenges.
Swap those 2 challenges and maybe get something easier? Seems unlikely.
Play with friends who have different challenges, but screw it, if we get lucky, we get lucky.
Now. Obviously option 3 is the sensible, healthy option.
But I can tell you, as an adult with limited play time, itâs taken me playing more this week than I usually would, to get to 2 challenges left (then thereâs still the cap stone challenge).
So, my conclusion has to be that I will be extremely unlikely to ever unlock a weekly reward.
Thatâs fine of course. Not everything has to be for me, and Iâm quite capable of shrugging my shoulders and moving on.
But.
The way the challenges work at the minute reminds me of the darkest days of Destiny, and it is VERY easy for people to fall prey to that and end up playing the game as a job.
Again, personal freedom.
But doesnât mean we canât point out that it could be done better. Doesnât mean we canât aim for something better.
Before the game released, the impression I was under was that there would be more daily challenges than weekly. Daily challenges would appear (daily of course) where there would be multiple bot challenges, then pvp challenges, and they basically escalate in difficulty with more rewards. AND there would be enough daily challenges that it would take many hours (about as many it probably would take for the weekly challenges now) and then we would have weekly challenges that are like 10x the xp of daily challenges that you would understandably complete over a weeks time.
Basically how Apex legends does challenges. Which, great idea, donât have the weekly challenges expire until the end of the season so you can always have long term challenges to go for.
Bottom line I feel I and many of us are going to keep saying is that we need a more consistent progression system that is rewarding and makes the battle pass (the only progression we have at all right now) feel like less of a grind and more rewarding for the players.
I for one am a player who enjoys looking how I want my spartan to look. The sooner I get that, the more I want to play because Iâm happy with how my Spartan appears. Thatâs what has kept me playing every previous halo game when there was nothing left to âgrindâ achieve. Just playing the game for the fun and enjoyment of it. Not worried about doing grind style challenges like a job.
If you donât like it, donât do it and just play the game normally like most people do
