Not broken as in I got it and it didn’t give me the EXP, I’m talking broken as in near impossible. 18 regicides in a single match. You have to kill the king 18 times before the game is over. In a game that score goes to 30.
Does 343 want us to boost for this challenge? I don’t get it. It’s mind boggling how much of a challenge this challenge is. 10 regicides was freaking hard, now they expect us to get near double that amount?
Let’s do some math here. The least points a regicide can give are 15.
18 x 15 = 270.
The game only goes to 300. Now let’s put some things into perspective. This means you can only get 3 kills that are not the king. (If all your regicides are on a new king that hasn’t upped his bounty)
If you kill several kings with a higher bounty than 15 you’re basically kissing that challenge goodbye. Any number of combinations of bounty higher than 15 will stop you from getting this challenge. So in reality you can only go for low bounty kings.
Which is pretty hard seeing as how kings get opponents fed to them. Just enemy after enemy going for king. Each kill the king gets upping his bounty. Anyone competent enough to be king can up his bounty easily. Especially when he has overshield or damage boost.
Okay, now 18 regicides, if you still think it’s possible, let me put something else in there.
When YOU kill the king. You gain extra points. Maybe enough to put you into the lead. What are you suppose to do now? You can only get 3 kills on normal players otherwise you forfeit the challenge. So, do you purposely die? Do you let other players kill you just so you don’t have to be king? So you can go for more regicides?
With all these variables are problems, I really don’t see “Deposed” being achieveable. I think it’s downright impossible with how the game is played out. Maybe if the score was upped to 600 points it would be possible. But at 300, it’s not going to happen but for a lucky few.
I get it’s a challenge, but make the challenges maintainable. Anyone can grind through a mission on solo legendary, but “Deposed” is impossible in a matchmaking environment unless you boost for it.

You actually have a leniency of 30-60 points as you could take tied lead at 295 and not be king and then kill the king. But that is almost impossible as if the king even gets an assist, he wins and you don’t get your challenge.
Plus everytime you go for a regicide, and you get the assist because he spawned on the opposite side of the map and your forced to long range DMR him, some noob melees him and that screws your precious few spare screw up points.
It its practically impossible without boosting, and if you boost it, chances are you’ll get banned.
IMO, don’t bother.
Although some people are saying its brokem when they achieve 10-12 regicides a few matches in a row, they get the challenge… but I reckon their confusing it with the 80 regicides in a week

Knowing that more recent games don’t load for a while, I’m guessing you got your 18 regicides in a different game, but even with boosting you only got 14 regicides in this game.

On to why I originally posted this topic though: 80 regicides through the course of several games is achieveable, 18 in one match is next to impossible. Does 343 even know what kind of challenges they are setting forward? Do they know the odds of getting the challenge? OR is it a variable system that sets forward random numbers for random games at random difficulty?
Because if not, the person who made this challenge is sadistic, or WANTS people to boost.

um…i got it as well…it took me about 4-5 matches, but i still got it. it says in One Game/Match, but i found that it carried over if i checked it during the next match of the same lobby
from my understanding, it actually rolls over to the next game. That’s what people have told me.
i actually already completed this challenge and i have no clue how but i do have a theory! i was king for a very long time and easily achieved 18 kills as the king and in doing so completed this challenge i believe. i too saw this challenge and thought well F that its impossible! but like i said i randomly got it in a regicide game! so if anyone else has it and has a theory as to how it is achieved LEGITIMATELY please post here because if i did receive it by some glitch in the system i would like to know so i could inform 343 of there mistake and not get my account banned! being that i am such a high level i am always afraid of this when i log on! but i guarantee that i did not boost and would never boost!
“Deposed” or “Kingslayer”? There are 2 different regicide challenges this week, in which you have to get a number of regicides.
One would be 80 regicides which roll over into more games. So you could get 1 regicide a game, over 80 games and you could get the challenge “Kingslayer”. As for “Deposed” though, the challenge says 18 regicides in A SINGLE MATCH.
Maybe there’s a glitch where if you stay in the same lobby it will roll over into more games, but the challenge on it’s own, I don’t know if it’s possible.
I’ve played a couple regicide games today. Some where I got a couple, then at the end of the game looked at my progress and it showed 0.
The last game I played I got 6, and I’m looking at my progress now (on waypoint), it says I have 6/18. Now if I start up a new game will that disappear or continue to stack up?

You gotta kill the kind to get a regicide. There is only 1 king. And you have to kill him to get it. You can’t be the king and get a regicide so you can’t complete this challenge. I can’t believe I had to try to explain that.

Stupid people why you so stupid. You gotta kill the kind to get a regicide. There is only 1 king. And you have to kill him to get it. You can’t be the king and get a regicide so you can’t complete this challenge. I can’t believe I had to try to explain that. How dumb can you possibly be?

This would actually make sense for a challenge, to get 18 kills as King in one game. This is actually possible and seems the most likely.
It also didn’t seem to make sense for them to make a challenge of 80 cumulative and 18 singular as trying for one achieves the other, which is silly

Yeah, it makes sense why people have ‘glitch’ achieved it, its more likely that they gave up trying to get the challenge, and just won the game, and happened to get 18 kills as the king.

I don’t know if it’s supposed to be 18 kills as the king. But if it is I may still go for this challenge yet.
Though oddly enough it says I already scored “8/18 Regicides” towards completing the challenge which is strange since it’s supposed to be in one match, I have a total of 9 Regicides throughout the day (3 in the most recent match, no more than 3 in one game so far).
For kills as the king my most recent is 10, not 8, and my personal best today is 17, not 8. So I have no idea why it says I have 8/18 completed…
