The way Halo 4 sounds.

The sound design for Halo 4 makes no sense, none of the sounds sound anything like they did in past Halos.

Why did they change the sound effects so much?

Do you like the new sound effects?

Explain why not making the old sound effects better would not have worked.

I like the new sounds of guns and everything else. It wouldn’t make sense to have the same exact things from other Halos.

New developer. New trilogy. New sounds.

It’s as simple as that. Besides the guns sound fine to me. Some game-play I saw of the Sniper from the latest build of the game makes me take back the bad things I said about it in the first place.

I like the sounds, lots of bass, very visceral and heavy.

They redesigned them to better fit their roles in a new game/story.

You’re right.
It sound nothing like old Halo.

It sounds better.

And you can hardly have such an opinion on passed Halo when you’ve only played Halo 3 and Wars AND only have 2 achievements on each.

Either you’ve made a new account to troll, or you really like to complain.

Meh

during earlier builds they were a bit sketchy. But their final versions for things like the Ghost, DMR, Sword, AR, and whatnot sound spectacular.

The AR alone now sounds like it could kick the -Yoink- of the prior popcorn makers.

How I like the new sounds? It sounds like the DMR hurts, that’s what’s up. Sounds like an AG3.

The three categories sound so distinct. You can tell what is Covenant, what is UNSC, and what is Forerunner.

Come on, go listen to the sound the Beam Rifle makes and tell me you don’t like the new sound effects, I dare you.

where’s the “I don’t care” option?

The new sounds are infinitely better, IMO. Granted it’s hard to tell from gameplay videos alone just how good the sounds really are–they always tend to be a little diluted in quality. You’ll have to play it yourself to get the full experience.

Warthog sounds like Chuck Norris arm wrestling a grizzly bear while taking a dump.

In other words it sounds amazing!

I’m on the fence about this one, I loved the old sounds, but some of the new ones are great too. I guess as long as they’re not too far off the original, but still sound great, then I’m content with it. I don’t think either is better atm.

The only guns that sounded good in previous Halos were Sniper, Laser, Pistol(h1-h3) and plasma rifle. The AR sounded like peas slipping out a pea shooter. The DMR souned okay, but not as punchy as the new one, the rockets sounded uninspired and all the plasma weapons sounded wierd and half the other stuff was just getting old. The new sound design was very much needed.

They wanted to make Halo 4 completely new. Why recycle old sound when you can make new cooler sounds. And nothing sounds out of place.

Were they to “only improve” the same sounds used previously there’d be numerous threads complaining that they just used the same sounds…

Much like the perception that they’ve just used the same models for tank or the banshee (when in fact I HIGHLY doubt they’re the same assets used in Reach, which with in all likelihood the game uses higher poly counts than before).

Because this game take place 4 years after Halo 3. I would be dissapointed if the sounds didn’t change.

They do sound very arcadey and cartoonish. So much pew pew! Very strange hearing sounds like this in Halo, the Scattershot sounds particularly bad.

as long as it make sense, and that it is Halo- esque sound, i;m fine

now if my Assault rifle starting making Cat noises, then that’s a different story

OT: I am loving the new sounds everything sounds more robust. Doesn’t sound like plastic toy guns.
