The Wasp only makes makes me want the real deal Hornet & Falcon so much more.
It’s not bad, but it’s not enough now.
It feels like a small taste of what UNSC aircrafts could be in Halo 5.
Considering the Wasp is only a Level 3 Req item, it makes sense that it would be a lot less powerful than either of the two previous UNSC aircraft. Think of it a the equivalent of the Covenant Ghost but it can actually fly and has shields. It’s good on infantry and light vehicles but not good facing a large amount of heavy weapons and tanks.
Who knows, maybe we will get more variations with the wasp to make it more powerful.
The Wasp is a Wasp. The Hornet is a Hornet. The Falcon is a Falcon. There is nothing real or fake about any of them.
Why in gods name does everyone want that thing? I don’t get it. All it was was a flying triple kill served to the other team on a silver platter.

You never used it right. You underestimate the power it holds.
I think you’re being blinded by nostalgia tbh.
I think players wanted an Aircraft that can carry passengers. Pelican in H4 was boss had a Spartan Laser on it.
Redacted.
Still not sure why we didn’t get the Hornet and instead they had to make Another new vehicle…

Because it was fun to fly? And like it was really good for holding objectives. Plus the Hornet was great for things like CTF as it was basically a Sky Mongoose. Its a role that no other Vehicle fills, but instead the Wasp dosen’t bring anything truly unique to the sandbox

Right i can agree it was good at the time for some things, but im thinking from a warzone perspective. in a world where everyone can call out rockets and tanks when they want i dont think it has much use.

Not to mention Phaetons and Banshee Temple/Ultras in the skies. Asking for a Falcon/Hornet is like asking for 343i to add a REQ card that makes you commit suicide.

It’s called the wasp, not the hawk. The hawk was a halo wars vehicle. Also, if you focus fire anything, you will shred it, except for the bullet sponge bosses.

Fine. Redacted my statements, not that I play this game enough anymore to care what its called.
Instead of pondering over thoughts like this, we need to have them MAKE A FALCON THAT FITS INTO THE GAME! I mean, there are plenty of people who want it back. To all those who say it won’t fit-JUST PUT THE CAMPAIGN FALCON IN WITH SHIELDS! ITS THAT SIMPLE. It also adds significantly to the team based area of Halo 5. I got nothing against the wasp, I actually love it and cant get enough of them, but we need a air vehicle WITH SEATS. Preferably a falcon, but one can think outside the box.

Eh… Instead of shields just jack up the armor. 2-3 Splaser shots for Standard would do. Add seats. It was already the fastest vehicle in Reach, unless you count the Phantom, Spirit, or Pelican.
Could make the speed bump up a bit faster than it does in Reach (without increasing speed itself) to keep the no falcon population from complaining. And of course, variants will be even better (Hannibal and ONI Falcon would be a “get REQ’d” sign)
And everyone then can stop missing the falcon if they do add it in.
Adding a troop carrier would make large scale btb maps better. But putting a falcon in warzone would be a horrible idea considering that people can call in rockets and spartan lasers at will. Reason why the Falcon dominated in Halo Reach was because that there was only one or a few heavy weapons placed on the map. I would support for the falcon or the Hornet to be placed in btb but not in warzone. Wasp is optimal since it is fast and can get out of crazy situations, at the same time fragile and susceptible to small arms fire. And remember, Falcon is not considered a VTOL even though it basically is… Its primary role is small troop carrier. So if they were to somehow make a new vehicle based on this concept that is strong and fast, then I would be all for that too and can stand on its own against a banshee but will fall to the phaeton.

We added shields to a Warthog and looked what happen to that thing. It is not that simple.
Plus, you may have shielded the vehicle but, much like the Warthog, the gunners will still be very exposed to BR fire.
Again, it is not that simple.
I swear some of the people on this forum are the most stubborn, unwitty, bland people around.
It’s like they can’t comprehend adding stronger shields/weapons to a vehicle to make it stronger, and at the same time they fail to bring up the fact that it’s just as easy to splaser a tank.
C’mon, you guys are smarter than that. Besides, what is so bad about having MORE content in the game?
