The Warzone Req system changed?

I’ve just played multiple warzone games after the update.
And I noticed that when my teammate kill an AI boss, my Req level do not get charged.
No matter that is a 25P regular one or a Legendary/ Mthic AI boss.
It seems unless you kill/assist the boss directly, you will not get any Req increase.

Is this a glitch?
Or maybe I just missing some Update log?

If you didn’t contribute to the kill why should your req level increase? Hasn’t it always been that way?

These changes where made back in August.

> Filed under the “Of Interest to Large Squads” department, we’ve got some pretty noteworthy news bits for fans of Halo 5’s Warzone mode. To get info straight from the source let’s hear from our favorite Ottawa Senators fan – 343 Lead Multiplayer Designer Lawrence Metten – who has some details on a particularly interesting experiment heading to the mode very soon. Take it away, Lawrence! “Over time, the Warzone battlefield has changed as players have become more and more skilled at the game mode. However, not all of these changes have benefited all parties – since launch, we’ve slowly seen the Warzone “blowout rate” (how often matches end in lopsided or blowout scores) continue to rise. The Warzone team is experimenting with some significant changes to the way REQ Leveling works to facilitate more balanced Warzone matches. “These changes adjust the REQ Level awarded for match actions and add a REQ Level “drip” that slowly increases everyone’s REQ Level over the course of each match. In our internal playtesting, these changes have resulted in more back-and-forth Warzone matches with considerably fewer players stuck at low REQ Levels over the course of each game. “These experimental REQ Level changes do not impact Warzone Firefight or Warzone Assault. We’ll be monitoring game data closely and welcome players to share feedback regarding these changes over in the Waypoint forums.” Thanks, Mr. Metten! These changes to Warzone are currently targeted for implementation late next week, so stay tuned for more specific info as we approach that timeframe.

That change in August is making you Reqs level always rising in a slow speed.
Not even close to what I’m talking about.

No.
It has never work that way before the update.

In the past day when you kill an AI boss, it give a boost of req level to all your team and gives your team req level advantage.
i.e. in the Skirmish at Darkstar, if your team get the first AI kill, after you catch the first armory your whole team will always boost to Req level 2 or just a needle distance there for those “unlucky” guy.
After this change, if you do not rush to the first AI and instead of rush to the Armory, that means you will have to spend some “happy” times in Level 1.

And this change also means in every Warzone map, if you do not rush to the first AI you will have a huge req level disadvantage.

Well it sounds like a good change to me. Why should some one else get a req boost if they didn’t contribute?

It’s not. They get less of a REQ energy boost but they still get one. It makes it so bosses are more of a team thing rather than an individual thing. So even if you were close by defending your team from enemies and you don’t get the boss, then you get nothing even though you helped your team mates. Or if you did most of the damage, then died and a few seconds passed and a team mate gets it. Before you didn’t get full credit but you still had a boost, not you get nothing. It was much better before… Now team mates can be stuck at low REQ level and since boss kills wont help, you as a team mate can’t help them out.

Exactly.

If teammates want to get a higher req level then they need to contribute and play more tactically. I never felt stuck at a req level but then again when I played I went after bases, bosses, ai and other players.

The change was made in an effort to slow down the snowball effect that Warzone games typically feature. In exchange for the Req energy drip that every player now gets, the entire team no longer benefits from a player downing a boss. So may want to take down a boss or two, or take a base, if you want to get Req levels quicker.

There is a simple tactic: separate to 2 group, 1 group using plasma pistol and rocket to kill the legendary in a short time. Another one to set a block to denied enemy reach the target.
And now nobody would like to set the block.
Because there is no repay for them.

If you are killing enemy Spartans that are trying to get to the boss then you are getting req level increases as well.
