The Warlord is Amazing!!!

I’ve been around posting in some of the Jerome related threads posting this but I feel it deserves it’s own thread. I’ve been using the decimus warlord to absolutely slaughter hero openings with my buddies in 2v2s and 3v3s (haven’t had the chance to do 1v1s much yet). My best build for the warlord opening so far is: war council, gen, build warlord, supply, supply, supply. Upgrade the hammer pull asap and send your grunts to focus on supplies rather than energy to avoid delaying your second supply pad. Once you have the warlord out hunt down that enemy hero (he will slaughter Jerome easily). If you spot the hero pull him in with the hammer and then use the Y ability to keep him stunned and then follow it up with a vortex lightning. If your playing in team games then try to keep all of your units together and try to snipe one of there hero’s when he’s caught out in the open (look by the power nodes they usually trying kill sentinels). Note: if the Jerome is in the mantis, then save the vortex lightning till after you kill it to keep Jerome from running away.

I’ve seen this. He crazy strong, and with siphon heals really really fast.

I love the Warlord, easily one of my favorite heroes

Great thread in light of all the “Jerome OP” crap going around… a week or so into this thing and people are OBVIOUSLY going to gravitate towards the units/leaders that have the most glaring strengths…

I would love to see a complete change in thread trends in 2-3 weeks when/if people realize there are more obvious counters or stronger leaders than Jerome…

Might be false, but it’s great to see productive threads like this…

LOL @ the Jerome is OP threads. I’d love to see double/triple Jerome again, it was manageable. Ran into Jerome/Decimus combo like 5 games in a row. Decimus absolutely slaughters heros. Absolutely nothing you can do about it either, he brings you in with his ability, you can’t move and he and he just tears you to shreds. Then If you do survive at the beginning he gets another hero unit to go along side him and they just come with an army and wipe your base out, while being nearly impossible to kill. This is the only combo I’m seeing in Champion level right now in 2v2. I’m about to work on my Decimus, if you don’t have him you have no chance at higher level, it’s not even close.

Wouldn’t it be better if you go Council fifth to get as much resources as you can, and a Chopper first. Use the Chopper to locate the enemy hero and then once the warlord spawns you can hunt him down and still have a decent economy.

The goal in 2v2s and 3v3s is to snipe one of the enemy hero’s before they group up together. There is risk doing this opener and i would recomend your build if its 1v1s but if you snipe the first hero in a 2v2 or 3v3 it becomes a 3v2 or 2v1 allowing you to kill the other enemy heros easier. Your eco will be slow at first but as long as you do the damage you need to do you should come out ahead in the end.

You can have more money than your opponent if you hit there supply pads and generators after you slaughter the hero that they went all in on. Jerome rushing sets you back more than the warlord so you are ahead if you mirror their opening. (Most Jerome openings I’ve seen start with armory then generator)

yeah hitting their hero sets them back especially if they didn’t get their upgrade in time so now theyll have to try and buy a new hero and thats a extra hit towards their eco then hitting their war council/armory just takes the cake

I keep telling people about warlord but they just say “Hes a melee hero he sux”.

Good Micro with the Warlord and he’s hard to beat. With Vortex and his pull ability, he can destroy any leader. Once he gets stun and siphon, gg. I think people are finally realizing that now. Warlord > Jerome

Being the top decimus player in the world right now. I can tell you this. Yes hes great. Hes an awesome leader and hes really cool. But dont be fooled into thinking hes on par with jerome. A well microed and top level play with jerome will ultimately beat u. Jerome plus marines will wither u down. Even if u manage to kill it. U will lose ur army to the marine hoard. Then you will both rebuild ur heros with him being ahead due to him already having a standing army. And with vortex lighting on cooldown the next engagement will be ur last. Current gamertag. Rts thel vadam

I’m soooooooo happy I can use warlord and do serious business. he was always fun for me to use

He’s cool. Banished can have trouble dealing with him. But UNSC have snipers. Banished might have suicide grunts.

I got frustrated with Atriox because his fat little legs wouldn’t run fast enough and kept getting pulled in by the hammer. R.I.P Atriox
