The Warden Eternal's identity

After rewatching that scene with the Warden multiple times I noticed that it kind of sounds like it is a distorted female voice, and I started to think about what we know about that level with Blue Team where Chief sees Cortana and her telling him that the domain is open.
Also, in the new Sprint episodes we can hear Palmer, Lasky and Halsey talking and that Chief is after “her” and the whoever they, are talking about is now a threat.
.
So, dows anyone alse think that Cortana could maybe be the Warden Eternal or that she has “infected” him or something like that? Or do you think they have nothing to do with each other?
.
I would like to hear your theories and I know that my theory sounds absurd and that it is probably right so please don’t start flaming.

No the Warden Eternal is ME.

Stupid jokes aside, the Warden Eternal is an ancilla which has the task to “keep the Domain and her secrets” safe.
When they say Chied is after her they mean the Domain. It has a female identity. It may contact with chief in the form of Cortana but Cortana is dead and gone.

The Warden Eternal is voiced by a male - it’s voice is just higher pitched and has something of a British accent.
Frank O’Connor already flat out confirmed it’s not Cortana, so the question now becomes “What is it really*,* and how/why is it using Cortana’s appearance?” At present I think it’s safe to say it has something to do with the Domain, but that’s about it. Though I think we can also confirm it’s not friendly - as the sneak peek at the scene we got from “The Sprint” video indicates that Halsey is aware of this thing’s attempts to manipulate the Chief and that it is dangerous.
My best guess at this point: it’s a trap. Halsey knows this, and also knows the Chief will trust something that takes her/Cortana’s likeness because he’s been conditioned to do so. Hence what she means by the Chief not recognizing the threat. My theory is that this message the Chief receives was actually sent by the Warden Eternal, who is in turn being commanded by the composed-Didact (who would know the Chief worked with an “ancilla”), and they are using the Chief’s memories to create an image of Cortana that will guide him and Blue Team into accidentally doing something that serves their purpose. I assume it ties in to the activation of the Guardians.

Its voice by a male, but it sounds like that are trying to distort it a little bit and almost have it sound like there are two voices slightly overlapping each other.

No, I really don’t think that’s the case. I just rewatched the scene and there is definitely only one voice speaking, it is just synthesized and there’s a bit of an echo effect put on it.

The Warden Eternal is the Warden Eternal.

He’s also “confirmed” that Cortana is dead indefinitely, but I simply don’t believe him. How could he say anything else without exposing the story?

Maybe he just figured people would be rational and logically be able to figure out that Cortana was dead by every source released since Halo 4, including Halo 4 itself, saying that Cortana was dead.

Mr. O’Connor has said himself that he does not lie when making on the record statements about Halo. There’s plenty of other canon documents that undeniably confirm the permanence of Cortana’s death as well. So if you simply can’t face facts, I don’t know how else to help you.

They could’ve just not shown the cortana ghost and not said anything at all. Instead they did and felt the need to clarify.

That doesn’t really write off that there could be a copy of Cortana, Cortana could be resurrected, or Halsey could just make another Cortana. Plenty of ways to pull out a comic book death and bring her back.

Also the Warden Eternal is clearly Johnson.

She’s dead, Jim.

That literally would defeat the purpose of ‘Halo 4’ though. Cortana explicitly makes a fuss that anything other than her original self is not her. Also you’re still ignoring the fact that O’Connor said that this next game was going to deal with the Chief (and fans) going on without Cortana “now that she’s gone” and wanting to honor her “legacy”. Not things you say about a character that’s going to return or be revived.

We have Blue Team now, which are the Chief’s closest friends. And we have Halsey, who is basically Cortana in real life. There’s simply no purpose for her to serve in the story now. Time to move on and let go - which is likely going to be a part of the subplot in ‘Halo 5’ as we see the Chief come to grips with Cortana’s death.

Oh I totally agree. I’m just saying there are ways and loopholes around the sentence “Cortana is dead”.

Except the creators themselves have already confirmed she isn’t coming back and everything we’ve seen built around Cortana’s death makes any kind of revival of the character not only canonically impossible, but thematically a huge slap in the face to what happened in ‘Halo 4’. You can’t get around that. There are no loopholes.

What is stopping them from scanning Halsey’s brain and making a new AI named Cortana? Technically that’s a loophole even if it is a slap in the face thematically. They COULD bring back Cortana in a number of different ways but it WON’T happen. Can we agree on that?
