As I was watching a video by YouTuber HiddenXperia regarding the Forerunner art style in Halo 5 I’ve come to believe that the change from ancient mystery to VERY shinny and new is due to Cortana taking over the Domain from the Warden. I think the new Forerunner art style has to do with Cortana herself. The new look architecture represents Cortana’s take over of the Domain. When we move into a house or apartment we make changes according to our asthetics. Cortana did this. In the levels regarding Genesis and the Domain the blue lighting at times was extremely bright and hard to look at. This brings to mind what Cortana tells the Warden ant the end of ‘Dominion Splinter’. “And I will become something luminous. Something Joyous.” Well that blue light was definately luminous. Now her size on the last page shows her towering over the Warden. This represents her take over of his responsibility. I think that the Warden represents the Domain under the use/control of the Forerunners (the six digit hands). If this is true then that means that Cortana is the Domain now. She called the Master Chief not for him to save her but to release her out in the real world and the Halo ring that we saw in the Legendary ending could be the only way to stop her, since the last time they were used they burned the Domain. If Cortana knows this then she is seizing them so that they won’t be used against her. Your thoughts?

Keep in mind that the Forerunners didn’t design their structures to be creepy or mysterious. Their civilization is also over ten-million years old, so 100,000 years isn’t that much to them, just a couple generations. It makes sense that when everything was re-activated, the energy fields and various caretaker systems/drones/AI would strip away patinas and clear away various sediments which had built up, leaving everything bright and new-looking.
I believe the Domain is a part of the memory of the Precursor Ancilla, Abbadon, and everything that anyone (including Cortana) does in the Domain is allowed by him. Also, the evidence seems to point towards the Precursors and the Flood allowing the Halos to be constructed and fired, with full knowledge of the concequences. So if the Domain is the Precursor Ancilla, Abbadon, It makes sense to me that everything that happened in Halo 5 is part of the Precursors’ plan.
