The Voice Acting Round Table

So, I got the Halo 5: Guardians Voice Acting Round Table video in my recommended again on Youtube and so I decided to rewatch it. You know, I feel really really REALLY bad for how much hate the characters of Osiris have received. Like, yeah, fine, the whole thing with Osiris fell flat; their whole image needed some serious work done to it, but at the end of the day, they were 4 people who loved their job and gave it their all trying to pour as much effort and love into their job as possible to make it so you might love their virtual self.

Watching the VA Round Table just hurts because Ike Amadi and Laura Bailey tried so hard to make their characters feel like they belonged in the Halo Universe because this was something they’d only imagined since becoming fans of the series. In the end, Osiris gets so much criticism and hate because everyone feels like they were taking way too much of the spotlight for Blue Team, the team everyone wanted badly to be in the game. Again, fair, because Blue Team only ended up getting like 3 missions.

I feel like if 343 had taken a different route with Osiris and maybe pushed Blue Team ahead a bit more they might not have had such a negative reception.

The actors all did a fantastic job with what they were given. All of them have done equally as well in their other roles as well. The quality of their work was not the problem, but rather the poor writing and direction provided for them. Agreed, I also think Osiris could have been something cool in H5, if only the writers lived up to the standards of those from prior games. Good thing Infinite has a new lead so at least players can move past it at some point.
